Tavon Austin and Marquise Goodwin Both Ran Unofficial 4.25 in the Forty Yard Dash, Challenging Chris Johnson [Video] [UPDATE]
Tavon Austin was the first wide receiver to run this morning at the NFL Combine, and they can just shut it down. The West Virginia receiver who can serve in a “do everything” Percy Harvin role for a team opened with an unofficial 4.25 time in the forty yard dash, just .01 behind what Chris Johnson ran at the combine back in 2008.
[UPDATE: The Combine has released the "official" results - Austin ran a 4.34, and Goodwin came in at 4.27. So Chris Johnson is still the 40 Combine champ.]
Oh, and Marquise Goodwin of Texas (below video) just matched him at 4.25. The quarterbacks may be running slow this morning, but we’ve now seen the two fastest times at the NFL Combine since Chris Johnson.

Those dudes were gliding. They’re so tiny, though. I wonder how much more muscle each can gain without losing the speed. 174 is awful small to last in the league.

Why is it unofficial? This isn’t the kids high school coach timing him with a stopwatch, they’ve got piles of expensive equipment timing it.
