High School Freshman Hits Miracle Shot to Put His Team in State Title Game
All, High School Sports February 23rd. 2013, 9:50am
Nick Gilpin nailed a 35-foot heave at the buzzer last night to give his Hampden Broncos a second straight Eastern Maine Class A basketball title. He was assisted on the play by his older brother, Zach. That family shares.
The degree of difficulty was quite high, and so were the stakes. Hampden entered yesterday undefeated and seeking its second consecutive trip to the state championship game.

Pretty good. Maybe not a heave, but still good.

Love that shit. After seeing the Hampden team celebrating on the sideline, looks like a lot of extras from the Hoosiers movie.

Nice of them to pull the video already. They pulled it from the news release as well.

Hey Joe, I’ve been laid up for a week with a herniated disc and I’ve watched very little cbb, I dont have a TV in my bedroom if you can believe that! Been listening some games on TuneIn, but really havent seen any games.
If I had to jump on something early, I’d take DAY +4 vs UMASS. Public is hitting Umass hard, which I understand (DAY is 1-6 road), line has gone up from UMASS -3 to -4 and public is 81% on them.
Good luck today with any betting. Later on, I’m UNC homer, I’d take Heels at home -6. they play better at home and a little revenge from the loss 3 weeks ago, though they outshot Wolfpack in 2nd half.

What makes a great buzzer beater? That was pretty great to me. State playoffs, down 2 (so if he misses they lose), get it up the floor off a missed FT, one footed 25 footer for the win.
Tough crowd here.

ouch! how did you get yours? i got one a back in 2006 after years of bad computer posture. my sister jacked up two of hers at the beginning of the year exercising poorly in the gym.

Thanks bear, believe it or not getting out of my chair after a meeting. Had my muscles all jacked up, which are much better after a week of rehab, but the I went to the dr’s and I’ve got a herniated disc in the L4-L5 area. Gave me some prednisone and some nerve pills to calm it down. Also said to take another week off and get flat, but walk a little to keep flexible.
This sucks I must say. Though its winter, so I guess I should glad for that. This getting old is for the birds
