McCarver hasn’t been a good announcer for at least 15 years now. Time for someone else.

I used to like McCarver when he did Mets broadcasts with Ralph Kiner in the 80′s. He has gone downhill though.

I don’t know if Jason and company would be that bold, but certainly this will come up in a future post under the title “Related”. They have gotten awfully cavalier in their definition of what is related to what.

as a red sox fan in yankee country, I suffer through YES network broadcasts. TWC needs to get NESN here east of Syracuse. Michael Kay, however, is not as bad as Sterling and Waldman on radio.

I don’t mind Sterling. He’ll blow calls multiple times a game, but if you can get past that (admittedly tough to do for a radio play by play) I think he’s alright. Waldman is terrible.

I could never get past Darling’s voice to like him. I’ve had the same trouble with Reggie on TNT.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was Bill Schroeder from the team that Uncle Bud owns. He’s pretty good. I’d vote for Smoltz or Darling from the options presented. They are both good listens.

And let’s not forget who held the rights before that – I believe it was NBC and ABC, the partners in the abortion that was “The Baseball Network.”

What a disaster that was. NBC would get Games 1 and 4, ABC would get games 2 and 3, or something like that.
