John Elway is “Styling” at NFL Combine in Black Leather Jacket
Broncos legend John Elway is 52-years-old, so I suppose sporting a black leather jacket with red racing stripes and an open checkered shirt is a valiant attempt to stay hip with the up-and-coming youngsters he so often deals with. Plus, he’s John Elway, two-time Super Bowl winner and noted horse, but if I were him, I’d be wearing a $3,000 bathrobe and smoking a cigar while fielding draft-related questions.
Right here is where you make a thoughtful crack about his bomber jacket face.

It’s hard bein’ a pimp.
Elway is livin’ the good life for sure. Unrelated: when you go to his restaurant in Cherry Creek, try the calamari. Exquisite.

reminds of when espn2 debuted and the anchors wore leather jackets so we’d know this was not buttoned-up espn
also, what’s all this about moving the combine and draft back a month each?

your lack of linking a BOOB CHIZIC in a black leather jacket is a little disappointing Mr. Ryan.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:24 AM
He probably bought it off ebay from Chizic.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:25 AM
Wow, how did I miss Chizik’s leather Auburn jacket.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:26 AM
He’s kind of turning into a fatty, eh Tim?

If you look behind all the trophies, you’ll see the jacket.

This is the most ritty comment ever.

Needs more golf.

Oh I have no doubt that you can top yourself. If you could include something about Cam being completely clean and golf then that will supplant the above as the most ritty comment ever.

+1. Nice of the Broncos to take the blinders off for the presser.

That is a bad look.

ms, would you take a natty title for smu if it included having to defend the qb?
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:32 AM
Like my main man Dufner getting bounced in the first round yesterday? I didn’t watch so I have no idea what happened.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:32 AM
I bet Chizik has a tough time making a full shoulder turn while wearing that leather jacket on the golf course. Click the link on my commenter name.

*not pictured Auburn’s 3-9 2012 season.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:33 AM
Tiger, Rory, Dufner all bounced. I picked Luke Donald to win so at least I’ve got that to hope for.

Considering what I already have to defend my school against (being cheating scumbags and then being utterly irrelevant for 25 years) yeah I don’t think I’d have a problem with that at all.

I would like to see a separate post about Mr. Elway’s tonsorial choices.

For Justified fans.

Yeah, but claiming a national title is good for at least a 5 year run.

I was in Dallas a few weekends ago. The wife wanted La Madeleine so we cruised down Mockingbird. I love that stadium.

Remember the awful fonts they would use for the signage of their shows? So terrible.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:40 AM
Won’t argue with that. I actually used to root for Auburn against Bama till they did Tubby dirty and hired Chizik.

the deuce

sigh…the worst coach to ever win a title. I mean, I guess if Aub HAD to win a title I would prefer that it would be viewed as the flukiest in the BCS era. Still burns though.

I took smarmy ass Ian Poulter. can’t stand that dude but he’s money in match play

There are supposedly plans to add a second deck, though if we only average 20,000 per game I really don’t know what that would accomplish. In addition we’d have to get permission from the Park Cities to go above our current building height as the area is still zoned residential with relevant height restrictions.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:49 AM
Yeah, fine, I’ll take it. It was fluky. But it was also fluky we didn’t get a shot in 2004. That was a better team.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:50 AM
I’ll grant you that. The football gods gave you some payback. That 04 team was stacked. STACKED.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:51 AM
I like it just the way it is. Sits back real nice. Fits in with the neighborhood.
Could you imagine living on Mockingbird? There are some giant, awesome house but damn that would suck.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:52 AM
Since that game I think AUB is 2-6 against UGA since that year. 1-6 from 2006-2012. If only they could beat UF like they beat AUB under Richt…
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:55 AM
Yeesh, I don’t like to think about it. Though, ’02 vs. UGA is still my worst Auburn memory,

I work with a woman who lives right on the corner of Mockingbird across the street from the stadium. She walks to work each morning so that she doesn’t have to deal with the traffic. It’s only going to get worse after the Bush Library officially opens in April. But those houses are still ridiculously expensive. A few years ago my wife and I (before we were married though) looked at a house closer to Mockingbird and Hillcrest, right across from HP United Methodist Church and it was available for rent for $3,000 per month (excluding utilities) or for sale for $600,000. The house was less than 2,000 sq. ft.

That was a brutal way to lose a game. You paid us back with 4 and 7 or whatever it was for like 60 yards a TD in Athens though. Such a fun rivalry.
February 22nd, 2013 at 11:59 AM
Yikes.
Though living in the neighborhood, tucked back a little ways from the traffic, would be one of my ideal spots to live in Texas. Not too big of a Dallas fan but I feel like I could manage back in there.

No doubt about it. If we could afford it we’d be looking down in there. But the further you get from the traffic the bigger the homes get and the more expensive they get. Still, it’s not as bad as Preston Hollow and I know a few professors (who do well though they aren’t rich) who live in the Park Cities. So there are deals to be found.

’05. Love that game. Cox to Aromashadu over the middle. Fumbles at the 3. Recovered by Courtney Taylor in the endzone. Since it was 4th down they moved the ball back to the 3. We ran off the clock. Kicked a FG. Won. Won’t forget that game ever.
February 22nd, 2013 at 12:08 PM
I’m more of a fan of the last two games myself. Always fun to embarrass a rival in back to back years. This year’s game will be competitive though.
February 22nd, 2013 at 12:10 PM
If it wasn’t for the traffic, I’d live in Plano. My rent would be cut in half, and I’d have a better range of golf courses.

Best QB ever looking styling. I like it. I’m looking forward to a good 2013 for my Broncos. Peyton’s gonna be motivated. Probably his last good run though.
