Kind of like how the disconnect between what Obama says and what he does completely flies over the head of modern Dems? How about we leave it at this – the majority of people are stupid. Once you lump the smart ones in with “modern Reps” or “modern Dems” you dumb everything down and avoid legitimate argument all together.

I just like pointing out that Reagan would be primary’d in today’s political climate. I find that priceless.

Yeah, I know he struggled with some of that. I’ve read his letters. I think, to oppose Husker’s narrow-mindedness, he had a sharper intellect than some people give him credit for, but he certainly isn’t the absolute gold standard.

Had a Presidential History class at Auburn with a professor that was way, way left. We studied JFK, LBJ, Carter, Reagan, and Clinton. Took all those presidents seriously, except for Reagan. When it was time to study him, we basically watched an old PBS special/hit-piece that only focused on how jovial and “simple” Reagan was. They talked for 10 minutes about his love for jelly beans.
