The point I’m trying to make there are Oklahoma products worth the price of admission. One doesn’t leave Oklahoma or Arkansas because they suck or because the people suck. They leave for better job opportunities, more cultural amenities, better weather. California is a cesspool that attracts people because of weather and plate tectonics.
But I’m sure we’ve never known any major figure to leave Arkansas for greener pastures. Where do the Clintons live? Exactly.

Someone has to defend a state which I do sincerely feel gets a bad rap because of some unfortunate testicle grabbers and too many SEC-caliber football fans. But, we’re a state that has embraced Nick Collison and produced the likes of the Flaming Lips, Olivia Munn, BiBi Jones, Jesse Jane, Carrie Underwood and Ashlynn Brooke so I would assert were not half-bad and probably okay if not above average. I can think of 20 states off the top of my head that are more rednecky and backwards and in which I would not want to reside. Kansas is not on my shit list.

Though the attacks on Ganim are childish the issue they are going after her about was something she tweeted about after THON! raised over $12 million dollars this past weekend. She was complaining that we don’t know where the money is actually is going and went after Penn State for not opening its books to show where the money is going.

All she had to do was a quick google search to find a report that the THON committee puts out every year detailing where the money goes. 96% of the money raised goes to the Four Diamonds charity while the remaining goes to upkeep for the event. It was just poor journalism on her part to attack the event and Penn State without actually doing the research before hand.

I love Oaklawn and the Arkansas Derby is the most underrated horse race in the country. Fun times and Arkansawyer womenfolk are hot to trot. But you’re painting with way too broad a brush about the perceived lack of natural and man-made attractions in Oklahoma. It’s weird because Eastern Oklahoma is as biodiverse as Western Arkansas. Now, Western Oklahoma is dry and desolate like West Texas. But even Western OK has Black Mesa, Little Sahara, the Quartz Mountains, the Wichita Mountains. And last time I checked, Oklahoma City or Tulsa has way more sports and cultural attractions than does any city in Arkansas. Are you going to defend Bentonville, too?

oh, you will never hear me defend L.R. or Jort Smith, but I also won’t use them as the model cities in my state. shit, oklahoma can have fort smith for all I care, that place is a dump as well.

say what you want about Hot Springs, they have Oaklawn, which makes it more redeeming than anywhere in oklahoma.
