Ballin’: Joe Johnson Sends Game into Overtime with Buzzer-Beater, Then Hits Buzzer-Beater to Beat the Bucks
San Antonio 108, Sacramento 102: Tony Parker’s 30 points and 11 assists will get all the ink, but wow, Isaiah Thomas has a nice handle.
Brooklyn 113, Milwaukee 111: Joe Johnson (24 points) sent the game into overtime with this clutch three pointer … then Johnson won the game at the buzzer with this shot. Brandon Jennings scored a game-high 34 points in what could be – if trade rumors are to be believed – his last game with backcourt partner Monta Ellis, who might be on the move.
Utah 115, Golden State 101: The no-defense Warriors let the Jazz shoot 50 percent, sink 10 three-pointers, and now have lost six games in a row. Go out and get Mark Jackson a big – you can’t get away with playing Andrew Bogut 15 ineffective minutes against Jefferson (24 points), Millsap (14 points), and Favors (14 points).
Phoenix 102, Portland 98: The Blazers have lost six in a row, and are fading fast in the West. With the Warriors and Blazers hurting, the door is ajar for the dysfunctional Lakers to make a move. It isn’t the fault of Damian Lillard, though – what an insane move this was. He finished with 24 points; JJ Hickson tallied 25 points and 16 rebounds. The Portland bench remains a joke, though – combined, they shot 2-of-15. Goran Dragic had 18 assists for the Suns.
Chicago 96, New Orleans 87: Greivis Vasquez had another 10 assists, Eric Gordon added 20 points, and Anthony Davis had a double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) but the Pelicans lost again. There’s no Derrick Rose update. Nor is there one for Austin Rivers (19 minutes, 1-of-3 shooting, zero turnovers).

nothing about a pretty good game between Denver and Boston? i see.

This dude just isn’t very good, is he?
For sure. Gotta be a sweet feeling walking off of the court after that kind of night.

Pistons lost again. Excellent. Keep losing so they can draft B-Mac or Home Depot.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:06 AM
Recently, they allow opponents to shoot way too many corner 3′s.

Hornet home games look like the camera was dipped in urine before the broadcast, how grungy is that arena?
February 20th, 2013 at 11:08 AM
it’s what a lot of people were saying last year but too many others were blinded by the name, Duke, and his buzzer beater at Chapel Hill
February 20th, 2013 at 11:08 AM
I thought I read all over last night and this morning about him playing 5v5 for the first time and looking “ready to go.”
February 20th, 2013 at 11:09 AM
still not as bad as the rams dome.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:10 AM
He died

well one of them is going to have to go, and the Bucks are going to have to replace him with someone who can play some defense. the defense on the game-tying and -winning was horrible.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:12 AM
Whereas others actually thought Duke’s “system” held him back and disguised his true talents.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:13 AM
Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis – two guys you don’t want on your title contender. No defense, me-first ballhogs
February 20th, 2013 at 11:15 AM
yeah, the system that has allowed Seth Curry and Quin Cook to flourish this year. Rivers is a bad shooter with no court vision. He can break you down one-on-one but that’s about it.

Has to be the worst in football…some bored NFL writer could probably wring out a piece ranking how stadium games look in HD
February 20th, 2013 at 11:16 AM
absolutely terrible. I saw a couple Rams games on tv this year and it just looked miserable.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:19 AM
game-tying and -winning shots, that is. it’s not like either of them are particularly lazy on defense, they’re just not that good on that end of the floor.
also found this really strange; no mention of the winning team? Noah grabbed 17 rebounds. pretty sure that’s more noteworthy than Eric Gordon putting up a Jerry Stackhouse statline (20 points and nothing else).

a sarah kustok sighting!
and fuck game recaps that name three loser player stats and no winner stats
/bulls-pelicans
February 20th, 2013 at 11:20 AM
but.but..but…Eric Gordon is a franchise player!!!!!!!!!!!
/who has been injured a lot and whose stats have decreased since his rookie year
February 20th, 2013 at 11:22 AM
hifives knifey
or is it…spoony?
February 20th, 2013 at 11:52 AM
I think either could play a 6th man “Jason Terry on the Mavs” role of instant offense off the bench. Though they would have to mature somewhat before then.
February 20th, 2013 at 11:56 AM
That post is just…goodness.
Favorite quotes:
“Remember how Kyrie Irving was a nice player as a freshman at Duke, but because of the system, it was tough to tell just how outstanding he was?”
Kyrie Irving was very good at Duke. Guess it’s Coach K’s fault he hurt his foot.
I don’t think it’ll take Rivers – who turns 20 in August – long to put up impressive numbers in the NBA.
LOL. And:
I’ve seen some folks compare Rivers to Jerryd Bayless, but I see him as a slightly less explosive Russell Westbrook (but a better shooter).
Rich.

Or a Jamal Crawford. If my team is starting Crawford, I’m worried. But I’d love it if he were on my bench.

Him and JR Smith are good examples for this year. Guys who can score on there own is a valuable commodity on a bench. Also allows you to close with them if the game calls for it.
