Jeannine Edwards, the ESPN sideline reporter who covers college football and basketball – frequently the Big 12 – is engaged to Oklahoma State Cowboys’ defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer. Pistols Firing was the first to report the pair’s relationship, and an ESPN spokesman confirmed to Big Lead Sports the couple got engaged last week. [UPDATE: ESPN was aware of Edwards’ relationship with Spencer.]

Spencer is in his first year as defensive coordinator after serving as linebackers coach. Spencer’s wife passed away at the start of the 2011 season.

Edwards, you might recall, was at the center of the Ron Franklin firing when he derogatorily referred to her as “sweet baby.” Edwards had an eventful New Year’s Eve covering the Clemson-LSU game – Tigers coach Dabo Swinney hugged and picked Edwards up after the thrilling victory.
