Donovan McNabb Congratulates Danica Patrick For Becoming First Ever Woman to Win the Daytona 500
Danica Patrick became the first woman to secure the pole position for the Daytona 500 today, a pretty big accomplishment. Of course, she still has to run in the race, but the rules for what does and does not constitute a victory are as confusing as the NFL’s overtime rules. So let’s let Donovan McNabb put this in its proper perspective.
Congrats to the Illinois native Danica Patrick on her win today. The first female to win in a big race with this magnitude. Big win

Tim Ryan probably thinks Danica is hotter than Kate Upton

Quick, someone find out what Donovan’s major was at SYR. Fock, he’s either real stupid, or just wanted to be the firs to post on Twitter

She will end up crashing and blaming another driver during the race.

You have to feel a warm, fuzzy feeling for Patrick. What with her broke and needing to whore herself out on commercials. Her doing a gape porn scene with Anna Kournikova seems the next move.

Certainly didn’t get a degree in protecting your ribs 101.

I did think it was funny how last night ESPN’s headline was: Danica fastest in practice, eyes pole.
I’ll bet she does, ESPN. I’ll bet she does.

Qualifying is irrelevant at Daytona and Talladega. She will struggle to remain in the top 37 in points this season.
February 17th, 2013 at 5:46 PM
I think it’s irrelevant anywhere. Keslowski won the championship but didn’t win a single pole all year.

She gets to lead laps, and as long as she stays away from the big one, will have the best opportunity to lead many laps. The bonus points for leading laps, the most laps, added to the points for finish add up just like anything else. It doesn’t guarantee victory, but it does put you in a position to rack up points, which in the Sprint cup is more important than getting a single victory. Calling it irrelevent simply because she accomplished it is weak. Being able to see the wind like Senior used to is something different all together.

Putting words into my mouth are we?

Give Donovan credit: At least he didn’t congratulate Dan Patrick.

No, but for Tony Stewart, it always ends with a nice big slice of pie.

If a gay guy’s girl is a “beard” what does Danica’s man get called? A purse? Lipstick?
February 17th, 2013 at 9:28 PM
Unlucky?

I was thinking the same thing. She seems like a conniving bitch.
February 17th, 2013 at 9:36 PM
Still, I’m on team i’d let her have me

Qualifying is very important everywhere else. #2 didn’t win a pole but if he had to start from the back every race, he wouldn’t have had the finishes he did and wouldn’t have won the championship.
Daytona and Talladega are different. It’s not “weak.” Restrictor plate racing has many positions change in one single lap. You can start last and be up front in only a few laps. Qualifying IS irrelevant at those 2 tracks.

I’d lap her.
/her pussy, I mean
//she revs my engines

I agree. It’s about who you get to race with you. I watched Earnhardt Sr’s last victory at Talladega, where he was in like 20th place with 5 laps left. He got two guys to agree to push him along for the rest of the race, and he wound up winning the race. But, that took those other 2 guys being willing to accept finishing in second and third, and trusting Earnhardt. It also took the crews communicating and agreeing. Which is why the few NASCAR fans know like Daytona more as an event than a race.
