I think everyone knows how the Salt Lake City Olympic Committee bribed the fuck out of the IOC to get their city selected, but even with that I think FIFA is probably still worse.

Oh I know, the IOC is corrupt as all get out obviously but they can use something like corruption in a sport – hypocritically – against that sport in a decision like this.

Wrestling has a lot going for it but if the IOC wanted to make the decision to give them the boot they do have some reasons based on their alleged crieria.

I’ve watched chariot racing on TVG before and it’s pretty boring. Maybe it’s called carriage racing, if Jay is around I’m sure he can correct me. But that’s the worst type of horse race there is. RELATED: I could totally make it to the Olympics as a poet. I can poetry like a motherfucker.

I’m not talking one horse harness racing, I’m talking four horse chariot races where there’s serious injuries and death all the time.

Basically like NASCAR but with smarter fans.

Gabriel Marcotti wrote a really great article a few years back about FIFA. For all the complaints of corruption, Sepp Blatter knows that as long as he keeps those tiny irrelevant nations happy thru aid from FIFA, he can do whatever he wants. Only real change will happen when Germany, England, Spain, Italy, and France decide that they’ve had enough and create their own European super league.

Also did y’all know that art used to be an event at the Summer Olympics? From 1912 until the forties there were medals for poetry, music, sculpture, etc

What is up with the Ukranian’s black eye and American’s cauliflower ear? How does that legally happen in wrestling?

yes, in boxing there are mostly just punches. wrestling is constant push and pull with both guys using all their strength, so it’s cardio and whatever the word for muscle power is…strength?

the bvlak eyes and cauliflower ears likely are from practice. the black eye could be from a match bc headgear doesn’t protect eyes, but a lot of guys don’t wear their headgear in practice
