Oscar Pistorius Shot and Killed His Girlfriend, Allegedly Because He Mistook Her For a Burglar

Oscar Pistorius, the South African blade runner who participated in last summer’s Olympics, has shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in his home. According to early reports, he told police that he was asleep, that she tried to wake him for a Valentine’s surprise between 4 am and 5 am, and he thought she was an intruder and shot her in the arm and head. According to CNN International, Pistorius is in police custody after the shooting. Stunning, sad news.

I wish I knew exactly what “tried to wake him” means. If she was sneaking in to drop something off, aware that he does own a gun in case of break-ins: fucking call first, I don’t care if it would ruin some of the surprise.

Just heard this story while driving into work this morning…WTF???? I heard this dude was a prick, and of course there was the incident at the para-olypmpics where his camp was bitching about the length of the blades of another competitor.

It’s a shame for this young lady to be shot and killed. he must be a hell of mark to shoot her in the head, and shoulder (while in the dark mind you). Something’s up with this story.

Something’s up with this story.

The articles this morning mention he has a history of domestic incidents and there are witnesses who gave statements about stuff happening earlier in the evening.

Going to draw my own conclusion that this guy’s a roider.

Bullshit. He killed that poor girl intentionally. If they have witnesses already, then I expect it to move forward pretty quickly. I have also heard he is quite the prick(which doesn’t make him a killer of course). He is probably a pretty insecure guy who snapped for whatever stupid reason.

You kind of know the guy is an ass when he fights for years to be permitted to compete and once he’s allowed, he challenges the eligibility of a competitor who has the same thing going on that he was just fighting over.
