Nolan’s minutes were very encouraging. Just because of the composition of their roster, they need him to develop into a serviceable option. There was concern he might be a total bust, but he had some strong practices leading up to the Syracuse game, beating out Tolksdorf for some of Wolf’s would be minutes.

Not really, he can definitely “pick his spots” in a way he never could in Cleveland, when he had to jack up off-balanced jumpers because nobody else on the team could be trusted to make a shot.

that’s not necessarily fair. he didnt have nearly the refined offensive game he has now back when he was here and you can’t discount the impact winning a championship had on his psyche, plus the additional experience and being 2.5 years older…not saying if he stayed, he’d be have won a ring or would be this incredible, but he had some good shooters on the cavs and found em when they were open rather frequently.

I think part of LJ’s legacy will be how he keeps Durant at bay. He’s dominated the series head-to-head (12-3 record including the Finals last year) but theoretically he’s at the peak while Durant is still climbing the mountain.

One thing about MJ is he really didnt have a guy like Durant (4-5 years younger) coming at him while he was in his 30′s. If you look at the NBA draft from ’86 to ’91 the drafts were largely terrible, and there was only one guy who had the capability to be that kind of player. And for whatever reason David Robinson just couldnt get it done in the playoffs.
