Auburn Student Wins $5K Tuition by Hitting Layup, Free Throw, 3-Pointer and Half-Court Shot in 24 Seconds [Video]
During halftime of Wednesday’s Auburn – Arkansas game (the Razorbacks won, 83-75) an Auburn student won $5,000 in tuition for making a layup, free throw, 3-pointer and half-court shot in 24 seconds. The incredible part is that he missed his first two 3-point attempts. When the second attempt came off the back of the rim, I probably would have booted the ball into the stands. This kid stuck with it and hit a runner from half-court right before the buzzer sounded. If you were wondering, Auburn’s last NCAA Tournament appearance was 2003.

That wouldn’t even pay for two reduced rate summer school classes at my alma mater.
February 14th, 2013 at 12:57 PM
That’s all? For four shots?

@husker – Great link on that pot video. I don’t know how anyone could successfully gauge if they are too stoned to drive by the law. Especially after just that 1/3 gram they were like 3 times the legal limit.

I heard from a guy that went to UGA that Auburn doesn’t have any type of admissions standard. They let everyone in and if someone isn’t ready for college, they just let them flunk out. Is that correct?

There’s some sites listed on this Jalopnik article. I don’t have any personal experience to draw from but it’s something

I’m actually surprised Auburn managed to scrape together 5k. National Signing day was what, last week? Figured all the cash was gone by now…

Ford Tempos are considered classic cars now?

Goddamnit I missed a long golf talk in the roundup. Hopefully breaking out the clubs for the first time since fall in a few weeks, assuming there isn’t a foot and a half of snow on the ground

Actually, considering that Ford Tempos came out in the early 90s it might actually be a “classic” car by now…it’s 20 years, right?
February 14th, 2013 at 1:46 PM
I wanna get a caddy, something around 75-80 in the year range.

i think about this alot. when i listen to pearl jam or do something associated with the 90′s it still seems recent. but in fact, its 20 years ago.

Kids applying for college this year were born in 1995. Let that weigh on you for a bit.

My neighbor bought a 67 Camaro (modified – not matching numbers) from Wisconsin in a similar fashion and has had trouble with it since day 1. His steering wheel was melting last week. Looked like an electric burner on the stove.

i had it inspected at sellers expense before buying, and i called the police chief in his town to get a character reference. so far, so good. its a cool car.

I tried to send it to GA Southern, but he already has a pickup down there with him.

Good effort. This camaro was purchased from someone that deals in turning a lot of them over, so I think my buddy thought it was good.
