Greatest Girls’ High School Basketball Shot Ever: One-Handed, Full-Court, Bounces Once, Goes in the Hoop [Video]
We’ve all dreamed about it, but here it is – bouncing a shot into the basket from the other side of the court … in a game. The Reddit title for this video is, “You’ve NEVER seen a buzzer beating full court shot quite like this…” I watched the video assuming I had seen it all. I became confused when the ball hit the court in the middle of the lane. Then the ball hit the rim, hit the backboard and went in. You can tell the crowd was just as confused as I was. The girl with the amazing clock management skills is Anna Olsen of Lewis-Palmer High School in Colorado. Sometimes you forget to check the clock and attempt to throw the ball the length of the court with :15 remaining. Remember, there is no such thing as a bad shot that goes in.

Well, it’s inbetween Denver and Colorado Springs. Nothing much else to do in Monument.

hey philly folks, got a job for you

Except that despite the distance she threw the ball she gets two points, not three. Once the ball hits the floor the “shot” ends – two points are awarded for the ball going through the basket anyway.

THEY SCORED TOO SOON!

High School basketball is pretty popular among those stuck in traffic on I -25.

5,600 people in that town. SROD’s probably passed through it many times.

Only because I’ve never thought of such a situation, does this count as a two or a three?

Ive never been to monument. Its kinda in the wasteland of CO. No mountains. Like Pueblo minus the huge amount of mexicans

There was an NBA player who tried to throw the ball straight up to run out the clock (probably 5-8 years ago)…it was premature. Other team got the ball, scored, and won.
/cut and paste that into Google, see what pops out

The girls’ basketball coach for my high school was also my social studies teacher. She and I got into an argument once during class because I disagreed with her ridiculous theory that the best WNBA player could beat the worst NBA player. Talk about delusional.

One of my finest grade school moments involved me shouting “THREE, TWO, ONE” at some kid on the other team as he crossed half court. He heaved up a prayer with about 12 seconds to go and I had an uncontested layup the other way. That kid’s dad hated me.

Michael Ruffin threw it, Mo-Pete made the shot

I knew it was somebody really ugly, but I thought it might have been the nutgrabber.

90% of my middle school sports arguments were whether or not an average D1 women’s team would beat an average men’s high school team

I could have swore I saw Jordan hit a bounce shot during the ten minute commercial for his shoes ESPN ran as a retrospective this morning.

So you’re backing Austin Rivers here? Now who’s delusional.

John “Hot Plate” Williams notoriously did something similar in a game vs. Georgia in 1984-85, sometime around there. LSU leads by one, couple of seconds on the clock, Williams is trying to inbounds the ball under LSU’s basket and instead throws it the length of the court and OB, thinking the clock would run out. It didn’t. Georgia then inbounds under their own basket, gets the layin and wins.
