Rob Ryan Is No Longer Out of Work, Will Coach New Orleans Saints Defense
Rob Ryan, the often-angry brother of Rex, has a new job: He’s defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints.
When Rob was fired by the Dallas Cowboys last month, he famously informed the world he’d be “out of work for five minutes.” He was slightly off with his estimate, but that’s OK. He coaches football for a living. He doesn’t tell the future.
Ryan’s expected to install his 3-4 scheme for Sean Payton and inherits a unit that ranked last in total defense last season.
A Drew Brees-led offense, of course, means the bar for defensive success won’t be set all that high.
