Ballin’: Nobody Throws a Better 3/4 Court Alley-Oop Than Dwyane Wade and LeBron James
Miami 114, Houston 108: A night after making 23 three-pointers, the Rockets only made nine, and lost to the Wade (31 points) and LeBron (32 points) show. James Harden put on a show (36 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists) that left LeBron raving.
Washington 106, New York 96: John Wall lovers will enjoy the above clip – great block on Melo, then a 1-man fastbreak culminating with a spin cycle on Jason Kidd. He did fall victim to this nasty crossover by Ray Felton.
LA Clippers 86, Orlando 76: Eric Bledsoe had maybe his best game as a Clipper (27 points, six steals) and the Clippers dealt the Magic their 12th straight loss despite not playing CP3, Blake Griffin or Jamal Crawford. The Magic were without JJ Redick, Glen Davis, and Hedo. If this keeps up, Orlando will be in the mix to get the No. 1 pick in the draft.
Cleveland 122, Charlotte 95: The Bobcats fell to 11-37 – worst in the NBA, again – in another listless defeat (their 6th straight). The Cavs surged to a 24-point halftime lead and it was curtains. Rookie Dion Waiters and Kyrie Irving looked like a star backcourt of the future: 17-of-26 shooting, 41 points, eight assists.
Atlanta 103, Memphis 92: The Grizzlies are now 1-3 without Rudy Gay. That’s all.
Utah 100, Milwaukee 86: Enes Kanter, the 2nd year player from Kentucky, probably needs more minutes – 17 points, nine rebounds, five blocks in 17 minutes.
San Antonio 104, Minnesota 94: Someone please let me know when Ricky Rubio (11 assists, none finer than this one) puts out a passing manual. Oh, yeah … the Spurs have won 11 straight and have the best record in the NBA.

Man the East is keeps looking weaker and weaker. Between the Knicks losing to the Wiz and the Nets inability to beat a wounded, sub-.500 Lakers squad, its becoming clearer and clearer the Heat will walk to the Finals. Hopefully the Bulls can present a challenge with a healthy Rose.
Tony Parker is playing great as of late.

That pass from Wade was ridiculous, saw it on SC this morning at the gym and damn near lost my footing it was so impressive.
Also I would imagine a certain user will be using it as evidence of Wade cycling on HGH.

I like the enthusiasm in these recaps. A future as a pre-show hype man is out there calling JMAC.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:36 AM
Wall has energized the Wizards. They are a better team with him healthy.
Grrrrrrr.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:37 AM
8-7 since he came back, and Beal has been out the past 3 games.

the one handed crossover from felton. very efficient
February 7th, 2013 at 10:40 AM
pacers should trade granger. how will he fit back in? whose minutes does he get?
February 7th, 2013 at 10:43 AM
Indiana has beat them rather handily in both meetings this season. Wouldn’t bet against the Heat, but the Pacers should be a tough out.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:44 AM
Dang. That roster isn’t the best, but the difference is evident even with the sound off.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:45 AM
He’s become an after-thought. Paul George has been killin’ it lately.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:46 AM
He’s having such an incredible season.
Tristan Thompson has actually looked really good as of late.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:51 AM
Hard to trade Granger when he has yet to step foot on the floor this season. His value couldn’t be lower.

At the start of the year, I was really disappointed with TT as the word was he lived in the gym all offseason. Thought I’d see more improvement. Once Varajeo got hurt and his minutes and responsibilities increased he’s been about 15/10.5 and inching up. Also, his FT% has been just under 70% since this timeframe, which is necessary to keep him in late. It was like 45-50% in college.
He won’t be a star but is showing clear signs of being a reliable starter and not a role player. Any shortcoming will not be to lack of committment which was a reason for drafting him there at 4.

Dion Waiters
Long way to go. But when him and Kyrie are both on their games they score a lot of points in short stretches.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:54 AM
Dion Waiters is absolute horseshit
February 7th, 2013 at 10:57 AM
If this keeps up, Orlando will be in the mix to get the No. 1 pick in the draft.
I’d say they are right now.
BTW, Pelicans beat the Suns 94-83. And since it can’t be Ballin’ without an Austin Rivers update:
Austin Rivers: 16 minutes, 1-2 FG, 3 assists, 1 turnover, 2 points.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:57 AM
He’s like Rondo from 3 years ago – can’t hit a jumpsuit but still the best player on the court most games.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:57 AM
Cavs only need 6 wins for their post-LeBron win total (55-142) to match their win total in LeBron’s last season (61-21). 11 wins to match LeBron’s 2nd-last season (66-16).
February 7th, 2013 at 10:58 AM
Hard to trade Granger when he has yet to step foot on the floor this season. His value couldn’t be lower.
Granger of two years ago for Eric Gordon straight up would have been a deal I could see happening in the trade deadline. Not now.
February 7th, 2013 at 10:59 AM
His value couldn’t be lower.
the injury took all his skill? i mean, that may be a lingering problem, but it’s not like the dude needed surgery
February 7th, 2013 at 11:00 AM
Dion Waiters is absolute horseshit
i wouldn’t go that far.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:01 AM
I would
February 7th, 2013 at 11:02 AM
can’t hit a jumpsuit
keeping
February 7th, 2013 at 11:05 AM
That’s absurd. He’s played about 40 games in his career and can create his own shot.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:05 AM
No, but teams are not going to pay full price for a player who is coming off a career worst season last year, and then was injured this year. I personally don’t think he is ever going to reach that All-Star level he was at. His per 36 #s have declined every year over the past 4 seasons.

absolute horseshit is austin rivers. deon’s PER is 13, higher than barnes, beal, rivers.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:10 AM
that’s true. And their win shares are about the same.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:12 AM
thanks kazzy
February 7th, 2013 at 11:13 AM
Oh, yeah. One more thing. Utah’s front line (Big Al, Millsap, Favors, Kanter, Hayward) is a handful. Keep an eye on ‘em.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:15 AM
The horse shit himself when Rivers crossed him up?
February 7th, 2013 at 11:19 AM
Is Tyrus Thomas still alive? Just wondering.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:21 AM
Utah needs to trade Millsap for a PG. They’re been in a holding pattern for too long. Favors & Kanter need to play.

February 7th, 2013 at 11:28 AM
Their strength is also their biggest flaw. Can’t win with Jefferson & Millsap defending the paint. The spurs ran a layup line against them last year. Same thing’s gonna happen again.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:34 AM
Reminds me of my Grizzlies lately. Stop ball, somebody.
Favors has so much potential, I would love to see how he’d be with 35 minutes each game.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:34 AM
Interesting but I don’t think Clips give up their big chip for a guy that plays Griffin’s position.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:35 AM
How much value does/should the Jazz place on just making the playoffs this year as opposed to strengthening to possibly become a factor in the future?
I’d love to see the Rockets make the playoffs, so I wouldn’t mind seeing Utah weaken itself this year somewhat. I’m still not counting out the Lakers or Blazers.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:41 AM
Jazz could just play 2 PF instead of a C. The Jazz get their PG, but also take on Butler’s nasty deal. LAC need to get rid of a SF, and he is the one they would most like to see leave. Maybe they just choose to hang onto Bledsoe until next trade deadline though.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:43 AM
If I wanted evidence from this game, I’d do with the reverse dunk in transition. However, still too early in the season. Wait until the playoffs, when announcers say he is “revitalized” or “looking more athletic”
Speaking of this, Simmons and Klosterman had a good podcast, discussing NBA testing policies and the benefits of blood doping for basketball players
February 7th, 2013 at 11:47 AM
Meant LAC in that first sentence.
Htown, I think the Jazz would be wise to keep their young guys together, and not focus on the playoffs for this year. Favors/Kanter have improved every year, and are 21/20 respectively. The Jazz might have to make a move this year with some of their expiring contracts though (Jefferson/Millsap/Williams/Foye/Bell/Tinsley)
February 7th, 2013 at 11:58 AM
Put on some glasses. The Heat are 0-5 this year vs the Knicks, Pacers, and Bulls.
February 7th, 2013 at 12:59 PM
I learned today that people no longer know what a crossover is.
February 7th, 2013 at 1:01 PM
And by no means does this mean that Heat aren’t still the team to beat. But they certainly won’t walk through the playoffs. They’ll have a very tough road to get back to the Finals.
February 7th, 2013 at 1:03 PM
Define “walk to the finals”. What does this mean? No seven game series? That’s certainly feasible
