Titus Young, Claimed Off Waivers By the Rams, Thinks He is Better Than Calvin Johnson
Titus Young is pushing the confidence thing to its limits. The troubled wide receiver was such a pain in the the butt that the Lions just released him two years after drafting him in the second round. The problems reportedly stemmed from, among other things, intentionally lining up wrong and pissing off his position coach.
Can you blame him, though? The Lions were not showing him the proper respect and making him the focal point of the offense since he is the clear best receiver on the team. What’s that, you say? Calvin Johnson is on this team?
Well, according to his old high school coach, Titus Young believes he’s better than the receiver who just set the single season yardage record.
“He did tell me he thought he was just as good Megatron,” Robinson recalled late last month. “I said, ‘Titus, come on.’ I said, ‘Come on, man. Who you talking to?’ I said, ‘Come on, you’re as good as that guy? This guy is the real deal.’ And he really believes this. And he was sincere about it. ‘Ah man, I’m better than him.’ I said, ‘No you’re not. Be real man. Come on.’ So I don’t know, I’m hoping for the best for him.”
Some level of delusion is probably required to be a pro athlete. Titus Young just has a little too much of the crazy. The Rams think he would be a perfect pairing to go against talented Janoris Jenkins in practice, as they just claimed the receiver. First order of business: administer the drug test.

A real question is whether or not he is even better than Amandola, Gibson, or Givens.

It ain’t bragging if you can back it up. Now go out there, son, and get me 100+ catches, 1,500 or so yards and a dozen TD receptions in ’13.
We gonna mark tape on this so 10 months from now, when he is a healthy scratch, we can all look back on this and laugh. Right? Right?

I wanted to do a Moss/Rice thing… turns out they both were rookies during their 22 year old season. 15g/10gs for Calvin, 16/9 for Titus. Both had 48 catches, with more yards for Calvin, but 50% more TDs for Titus (6 to 4!). So he may have a point.
Till they hit their second seasons…

TY 33/383/4

THEN go out and get 500 more yards and 22 more catches, to be better than CJ.

SROD, you given up on Meacham yet?

That’s what blows me away about Megatron’s season. Those numbers were otherworldly, but the team still lost over and over.
He was the main threat, he kept producing, but where was his help?

Nada, you were right.
After the Cleveland game, where Meacham dropped that pass that might’ve, might’ve WON the game for the Chargers, I tuned him out.
The Bolts have a lot of holes now. The window has closed for Rivers & Gates. They won’t admit it, but the rebuild starts now. Ain’t no way to get a new stadium, but there you have it.
