Lindsey Vonn: ACL & MCL Tears, 2014 Olympics in Jeopardy, According to a Report
Lindsey Vonn, the Olympic gold medalist who had to be airlifted off a mountain in Austria today following this ugly accident, has suffered two severe knee injuries according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo.
A source told Yahoo! Sports that Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn has suffered ACL & MCL tears to her right knee in a mountain crash today

The 2014 Olympics are almost exactly a year away (they’re being held in Sochi, Russia), and the knee injuries could jeopardize Vonn’s request to compete in the Downhill (she won Gold in 2010) and Super-G (Bronze in 2010).

the reason for airlifting her is probably the same reason she crashed. The town got nearly 2 feet of snow on Sunday night.
The roads might not have been cleared well enough, and the helicopter might have been the fastest and safest alternative.
