Here’s college B-Ball ratings through 1-20. They are terrible, but I don’t know if this is unusual or not. Lots of 0.0 ratings on ESPNU games.

Florida is a really really good team. However, the SEC is a steaming pile of garbage. Like, Big East football bad.

Parity is a good concept, but a rotten reality. People love greatness, dominance, and a team they love to hate. We like to attach the term upset to some of these games, but in reality there are no true upsets that take place anymore because these teams are evenly matched for the most part. In the case of College basketball, kids leaving early has killed the quality of the sport. Beyond that, the explosion of AAU/travel ball has created a familiarity amongst players that has killed the intimidation factor of a small or mid major school facing a big time school/player. George Mason’s run was the best example of this.

I’m still thinking Butler, Indiana and Louisville are three of my Final Four picks, and I’m up-in-the-air about the other one. If I had to take another team outside of the Ken Pom Top 10 (Butler is 46), I guess give me Oklahoma State? I’m sure this means the Cowboys will lose to Baylor at home Wednesday.

At least you’re finally off the Maryland wagon. They might make the NIT F4.

I love college hoops (more than most of my friends), but there’s no way I could deny that the one and done has taken some of the luster away. I realize there’s always been a tournament, but it does seem like regular season games mean less, especially considering the rivalries are becoming less important with constant re-allignment. I’m to the point where after the Buckeyes lose a game, I say “well, who cares, it only matters how well they play in March.”
