Michael Beasley Cited For Driving With Suspended License, Excessive Speeding, and No License Plates
Suns forward Michael Beasley was reportedly pulled over by Scottsdale police a little over week ago after being spotted speeding, which of course led to a list of other violations.
According to the report, Beasley was cited for driving with a suspended license, driving with excessive speed, driving with an expired registration, and failure to display a license plate or temporary tags on his 2009 Mercedes. Now I can sympathize with Beasley on the last one. Waiting around in line at the DMV is the equivalent of spending your afternoon trapped inside a subway car, so his hesitancy in procuring license plates seems completely reasonable.
The report also stated that Beasley had a loaded 45 caliber in the car that officers held onto until “the traffic stop was complete.” In addition, he reportedly displayed “slow speech and slow responses” when asked if he had been drinking or had taken medication, but it was determined he was sober after a “DUI investigation.” While Beasley was initially placed in handcuffs and arrested, officers cut him a break due to his cooperation but also because one officer deemed the 6’10 forward would not fit well in the backseat of the police car. Makes perfect sense. I’m guessing that being a member of the Phoenix Suns played no part in inspiring said break.
Beasley is scheduled to appear in court on February 11, though he will not be driving his Mercedes to the appearance, as it’s been impounded for 30 days.

Come on, Tim. I see Tim Ryan on the byline and that picture of Beasley and I’m thinking awesome caption.
It is unreal to think that this was the 2nd most exciting player in Big 12 history. Oh well, I guess he got his NBA money to last him the rest of his life.
/doubts Beasley is using a reputable financial firm to manage his money.

I will entertain this thought. I’m still leaning towards Beasley as #2.

Watching Texas vs Huggins and 64 people watching this game in Morgantown. I don’t think West Va opened up the pocketbooks for this type of home crowd. And Texas is awful. In shambles, even.
Iowa St. skullrelationed OU tonight. Forget I said OU might be sneaky good last week.

Nobody is at this game. I figured this game would be 75% full on a Monday night ESPN game. There might be 4000 people there.

Theres no connection with the opponent. If it were pitt, syracuse, uconn, and notre dame, the arena would be fill. This is the risk many schools are taking with realignment

I like this. Good call. This will take some time for West Va.

Oh Super Cool Beas…

There was once some discussion about whether to draft him or Derrick Rose. Yikes.

That’s just it with realignment – Texas football would draw a huge crowd in M-Town. Texas basketball not so much. The only road draw in the Big 12 is KU but even with their success KU is more of a regional power than a national one – they dont have much pull on the East Coast compared to Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Syracuse, UConn, etc.
Also Texas and WVU are both horrible and unwatchable this year.
