Ricky Rubio: Behind-the-Back Pass to Himself Was Simply Ridiculous [Video]
Ricky Rubio’s absurdly smooth behind-the-back pass to himself, and subsequent dish to Nikola Pekovic against the Hornets Saturday night was point guard poetry worthy of multiple looks. You know you’ve successfully sold the fake when the cameraman sitting under the basket is severely juked out of his seat. Minnesota won handily, 115-86.

White fans who always decry the street ball element of the NBA absolutely lose their minds with glee when they find a White boy who can perform those same tricks. I still remember the video of Jason Williams, as a rookie, making a fancy pass right to the front row seats, and getting a “wow did you see that pass” standing ovation from the visiting fans.

Count me as a white guy who couldn’t stand Williams. It’s ok when the moves are efficient, like this. Rondo has been executing this exact fake for years

Rubio isn’t white, he’s European.
/Shocked that Darrell found a race angle here.

The fake where he starts to go behind the back but doesn’t actually pass it all and then just lays it in. Yes, Rondo has done that a lot.

February 3rd, 2013 at 2:24 PM
did you want to address it or are you going to do what you normally do and slink away?
February 3rd, 2013 at 2:28 PM
Doesn’t aTm have like 36 2013 recruits already?
February 3rd, 2013 at 2:29 PM
Whether it were Rubio, Ralph Sampson or SuperAndy, a behind the back pass to yourself will get a post.
February 3rd, 2013 at 2:30 PM
What I normally do? Dude, I post about once a month.

Just based on football, who in their right mind would pick UT over ATM right now?
Been beating the ATM is a sleeping giant drum since Sumlin arrived

Thanks for the link, Jason. I got to relive this…
LOL. Amateur hour over here in the comments section. ArkBadger, skull fuck? Oh you mean that thing A&M did to yall back on September 29th in “Bum F College Station”? Yeah that shit was too easy and good luck with the revolving door of coaches over the next 15 years, chump. Next up we’ve got a SMU fan? A SMU FAN? BOY daddy musta bought you a big shiny pair a nuts the way you spout off on the keyboard. Didnt realize SMU actually had fans actually, because back on, oh, uhm, September 15th the stadium was occupied by nothing but maroon after halftime. KU fan, you shouldn’t even be allowed to comment on college football posts, it’s just clown shit every-single-damn-time. Then cue the know-nothings talkin’ bout texas HS players don’t give a shit about Johnny Football. Hrrrmmmmm, well maybe they care about playing in the SEC, beating the hell out of number one teams in the nation, smashing hot white girls with rich daddys, putting up big numbers, or playing in the rowdiest, loudest, best damn college football stadium in the state of god damn Texas. WheresWallace, one game? How about 8 games, and the fact that TU is downright embarrassing this year. Some one please point out where im wrong here.

Some. One.
February 3rd, 2013 at 2:50 PM
smashing hot white girls
Right on, Bro.
February 3rd, 2013 at 2:54 PM
I enjoyed this one…
Actually, it would be
February 3rd, 2013 at 3:00 PM
Yeah, cause ya know who white folk hated for their mad street ball skills? Magic Johnson. Brother couldn’t catch a break in Los Angeles. Whitey damn near ran him outta town till after that 5th championship.
No, give us that fundamentally sound play of Andre Miller. That’s what whitey wants. Andre’s going to be elected the King Of Honkeyland after his career is done, to hell with the Hall of Fame.
February 3rd, 2013 at 3:18 PM
Yeah, because during the great Celtics/Lakers rivalry of the 80′s, do you know who was presented as the epitome of the great, overachieving fundamental player? The gritty, gutty Magic Johnson who led the hardworking, lunch pail carrying blue collar Los Angeles Lakers against the athletic Larry Bird led, Showtime run n gun Celtics. This is a no revisionist history zone homie or hombre.

Watched the 2nd quarter. Reminded me of what I would say to my ex-wife if we ever meet:
“If you had been that good before I made changes, I wouldn’t have had to make changes”.

Boatright and Daniels are two of the most frustrating (read: not very good) players in Uconn hoops history
February 3rd, 2013 at 4:08 PM
It doesn’t matter, that Rubio clown is shooting below 28% from the field, or that he’s a turnover machine or can’t play D…As long as he has a fancy pass every once in a while, everything is fine…Most overrated player of all time!!!
