Phil Mickelson Misses Shooting a 59 With a Lip Out on the 18th Hole [VIDEO]
Phil Mickelson came within centimeters of becoming the fifth golfer to shoot a 59 in a PGA Tour tournament at today’s opening round of the Phoenix Open. Mickelson had previously shot a 59 in the 2004 Grand Slam of Golf, an event after the PGA season for the Grand Slam winners.
It looked so good that Phil started walking toward the hole with his putter raised, only to be disappointed. I’m sure he’ll get over it by knowing he set a course record and is in the lead heading to Friday.

Had very good chances at PGA vs. Toms (forgot course in GA)
I’d say outplayed by Payne Stewart at Pinehurst
Last year’s Masters was there for the taking as well. FUBAR’d on that early par 3.
