Ecuador plays their games at Olimpico Atahualpa which is 9000 feet. Everyone hates playing there and they’re very very hard to beat there because of it, they had the ’93 Copa America final there too.

Cotton Bowl, Rose Bowl, Citrus Bowl, and Stanford Stadium were all 1994 venues.

For college stadiums in major metro areas, I think you could use the Rose or Stanford, but the pro stadium building boom has lead to better facilities in the major metro areas of the US.

I’d use Denver. Take out Philly, Pitt, Phoenix. Add Miami and DC

DC is on my list. Have to use Philly, 69k stadium capacity. Major metro area and would probably be used in the round of 16/8. Miami is a shithole in the summer and so is SunLife.

Mole – the assumption of San Fran on my part would be with the new Niners stadium in Santa Clara.

i feel like the world cup should be held at classic college football stadiums. much better atmosphere.

I can see Phoenix, but if I’m putting up venues in the US for the WC, it would go: Boston, New York, Philly, DC, Dallas, LA, Chicago, San Fran, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Phoenix and maybe Atlanta.

All except San Fran and Pittsburgh were venues they submitted.

Denver was on there as well.

At least one of the Brazil venues is above 3k feet.

On the real the USSF put forth Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Phoenix among their host cities. You don’t deserve to win with shit like that.

Can’t do it at Denver b/c of elevation. Otherwise, you have 12 cities, diverse and all stadiums on the list have 58k+ capacity.

Distance between sites is the biggest downside, but our travel infrastructure is excellent. We also have a ton of viable, interesting host cities, with venues already in place

The USA world cup I think still has provided the most ticket revenue to FIFA. The USA’s # of hotels and airports make it the best for bulk travel. The distance between sites is a negative but the financial coup for FIFA would be high. It’s just the execs wouldnt get the bribes they could elsewhere.
