George Karl on JaVale McGee: “Lazy and crazy isn’t going to make it work”
JaVale McGee is full of potential. He’s a legit 7-footer with freakish athleticism. He’s also a little … off. Just look at all those previouslys down there. That’s a lot of range. For the Denver Nugets, McGee has harassed a small portion of his talent, coming off the bench to play just under 19 minutes a game. Coach George Karl and the Nuggets are happy with McGee and they really just want him to be a 25-minute-a-game player. To do that he’ll need to work hard and be normal. From the Denver Post:
“He’s got to understand that lazy and crazy isn’t going to make it work,” Karl said. “We want solid and we want fundamental, and we want spectacular but only when it happens, not forcing the action where sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t.”
McGee has a PER of 21.9 this season, averaging 10 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in his 19 minutes a night. He also hasn’t missed a 3-pointer this season.

Surprisingly, this is 1-1, not 0-0. Tied for the league lead with sharpshooter Samuel Dalembert (1-1).

Holy shit. Maybe this is Duckworth’d, but I had no idea the Felonious Parachuter plot line in Justified was taken from something that actually happened in real life.
