LeBron James Hugs and Tackles a Fan Who Made a $75,000 Halfcourt Hook Shot
Michael Drysch drained a halfcourt hook shot between quarters of the Heat’s 110-88 win over the Detroit Pistons Friday, and as he celebrated, the best basketball player on the planet rushed him with the exuberance of a college student, bear hugging the computer technician and knocking him to the ground.
Drysch said he had been practicing the shot the past two days and only made it once during his workouts. He received a tip from a friend in the arena tunnel as he was warming up to take the shot.
“They told me to put some spin on the ball, and get it up there as high as I could,” Drysch said. “I had made that shot something like 1 percent of the time in my life.”

Why?

Still don’t understand why anyone would hate LeBron

Probably 90% Decision.
TBL is on quite a run of halfcourt shots made using horrendous technique. A hook? Really? I think an overhead bounce pass at the hoop is higher percentage

How screaming a of you.

A number of reasons, mainly that playing all time great basketball will get me to appreciate someone despite any shortcomings (see Bryant, Kobe). I’ll go right back to hating him if the Bulls play the Heat in the playoffs, but for now LeBron and I are cool.
He seemed legitimately pumped about it. Didn’t seem calculated at all.

Never stopped loving LeBron. It was almost impossible for him to live up to the hype and expectations for him coming out of high school, and he’s done it. I couldnt imagine growing up like LeBron – in poverty, teen mom, no father – and then being given everything in the world at 18 and NOT f***ing it up.

Exactly the first thing that popped in my head.

And according to ESPN, $22,000 of that is going to Uncle Sam and Uncle whoever the governor of Illinois is.
