Akiem Hicks is stout enough to play at the Nose.
Martez Wilson and Junior Galette are quick enough to rush from the edges.
And Curtis Lofton and David Hawthorne are perfect ILBs.

This probably spells the end for Sedrick Ellis, Jonathan Vilma, and Will Smith, though.

I don’t want to say “offenses will figure it out,” because there are a lot of things you can do with a 3-4. but I wonder how much decent 3-4 personnel there is to go around? it’s gone in and out of style before.

The Saints in the 2000s have drafted DLs the way the the Lions under Millen drafted WRs. And the only members of either group with any substantial impact have been Will Smith and Megatron.

Roy Williams had one good season and was flipped to Jerruh for a first rounder which became Brandon Dropagrew. Which, compared to Mike Williams and C-Rog counts as a substantial impact. He also anointed CJ “Megatron,” which has to count for something.
