John Tortorella to Reporter: “That’s just a stupid question. That’s a dumb question.”
All, Media Gossip/Musings, NHL, Video January 25th. 2013, 11:16am
Nice to see that New York Rangers coach John Tortorella is already in postseason form.
“That’s a stupid question,” Tortorella snapped when asked if the Rangers were in good shape. “This team is in shape as far as what we’ve started with here, as far as how it’s happened with the lockout. That’s just a dumb question.”
Man, I hope video surfaces. Tortorella’s curt, angry postgame press conferences were the highlight of the 2012 NHL playoffs.

Need more Tortorellas in sports. He’s the best.

This dude slays me. If I ever start watching hockey, it’ll be for the sole reason of hearing this dude dominate reporters.

Anyone who rightfully calls Larry Brooks an idiot has to be OK in my book.

Rangers looked gassed last night. They will now win 10 in a row to spite that previous statement.

In his defense, most questions reporters ask ARE stupid questions.
He still has a way to go to catch Pop.

Correct, the Rangers did in fact lose.

What did the Isles eat for breakfast yesterday. Is Scrivens that bad of a net minder?

When most questions these days start with “talk about…” wouldn’t you get pissed off, too? Man, J-schools should get with the program and start offering courses on how to ask a question.

Or, you know, the actual games

Although many talked a tough game about boycotting hockey they all flocked back to it like a newfie clubber to a wounded baby seal.

“John, why did you send out Aaron Asham as a starter?”
That’s a question that he should have a short answer to because there isn’t a good one.

Didn’t see the game, but I think the Isles have some really good young forwards. Moulson and Grabner are pretty good and I think Tavares is going to be a perennial all-star.

Well, yeah. Now that you mention it, Popovich rules the postgame press conference. He can switch from insightful to acerbic in an instant.

So Tortorella is what Belichick would be if Belichick actually opened up to the press?
January 25th, 2013 at 12:05 PM
Easily the most entertaining coach.

So, Hernia, we getting that “which schools take a tumble” post today?

In any sport. He’s the greatest.

Am I the only one that finds a hockey post authored by JMc to be a bit jarring? Is this normal?
