Yeah, she intially annoyed me with her pronunciation of ESPN, but I grew to respect her as a reporter. In the article, names of other female ESPN personalities were mentioned, and with the exception of Cindy Brunson (who left when her husband, who also worked at ESPN, got another sports related job in Arizona), many of those females took jobs that give them both more professional freedom and a larger salary. Also, these woman are in their mid-30′s, and networks seem to shy away from women in their 40′s so the hot time to advance in their career is now.

It still amazes me than Teddy Ballgame missed the equivalent of six seasons in WWII and Korea and still put up the numbers he did. I’d wager those six seasons in his prime would have put him so far past Ruth in terms of HR, RBI, etc., that no one would have ever caught him.

Bob Feller too for WWII. Williams would of been the the 680-810 range for HR due to lost years in his prime and I think hits in the 3800 range? But maybe he doesnt play as long if the war wasnt there. Incredibly brave that many of those men refused cushy assignments too.

I can confirm Nichols is a pear, maybe a Bosc. I saw her at the Pittsburgh airport once and it clicked for me why she can get those athletes to open up to her – because they want her to open up for them.
