Danny Espinosa Has an Attractive Girlfriend Who Has Already Blocked MLB Network’s Kevin Millar on Twitter
Danny Espinosa is the second baseman for the Washington Nationals. As you can see, his life is pretty awesome. He plays baseball for a living and he has a super sweet beard. The only person with a better life is Sarah Mosher, who gets to date Danny Espinosa. She probably gets tickets to games and she gets to be seen in public with that sweet ass beard. On a recent episode of MLB Network’s Intentional Talk with Chris Rose and Kevin Millar, the player, the beard and the woman were discussed.
Nats Inquirer transcribed the Musburger-ian work by Millar.
Rose: It looks like the black Santa Claus beard. It’s that fluffy and everything.
Millar: I mean, I didn’t even recognize it. I mean, it was just a gorgeous dress. Danny? Back to you, Chris. Don’t make it awkward.
Rose: …You made it awkward. She’s already blocked you from Twitter. You tried to follow that lady.
Millar: You put a big pause. I was talking, you put a big pause and made it TV awkwardness.
Rose: Is it true or not that lady blocked you from her Twitter account?
Millar: True story. I was trying to view the pictures of the beard, and it was like, I can’t view it!
Was Millar actually blocked or just confused by @sarabethmosher having protected tweets? He was probably confused, but it makes for a better story if the Nationals’ second baseman’s girlfriend had to block an MLB Network employee on Twitter. That would be strange since he hadn’t even made a big deal about her on television yet.

It involves another NL East team so I’m just going to take it and go with it.
Kevin Towers traded two really nice pieces this winter, one probably a franchise cornerstone, and got exactly zero “A” rated prospects for them. Gregorious is probably a B- player and he trade Bauer because of philosophical differences. Now, they move Upton and get back a rental (Prado), a nice player that was blocked by a better one (Ahmed blocked by Simmons), a really nice #3 starter (Delgado*) and to borrow a phrase some guy named Zeke Spruill.
Based on what has become of the Padres the last few years, D’Back fans should expect similar results in Phoenix. Towers diassembled a team that won the division the year he got there and has made them a middling team in a division with the largest spender in the NL and one of the best pitching staffs in baseball.
nice bolt-ons, I guess

All of this. Towers is a complete idiot. I don’t know how you justify that Upton trade. He’s 25. He’s under team control for 4 years. And Towers doesn’t get any top prospects back? BOO THIS MAN

January 24th, 2013 at 2:35 PM
Word is that they’re extending Prado, so he’s more than a rental. It could be that Towers is just a terrible negotiator. His top three prospect targets in the Upton trade ended up not being in the deal.
January 24th, 2013 at 2:35 PM
What SC said basically. Atlanta and Washington have made the NL East the NL Beast again. And considering the obvious bias against baseball on this site, I doubt we’ll get any season previews or barely any coverage of the season.

I’d call it SOP.
He’s still a 29 year old utility player. Based on what Passan said about Gibson’s involvement in the negotiations and the premise that Kirk wants “more grinders” on his team, I’d say the Diamondbacks are headed in the wrong direction at record pace.
January 24th, 2013 at 2:37 PM
it could be that Towers is just a terrible negotiator.
It could be publically sharing your displeasure with the asset you’re trying to trade isn’t the best negotiating tactic.

January 24th, 2013 at 2:42 PM
So, after the inevitable Dodgers fire sale in two years, is it possible that the Giants run that division for the next 5-6 years? How long until Tulo and CarGo want out of Colorado. The NL West is going to be a fantastic dumpster fire for the most part for years to come.

January 24th, 2013 at 2:43 PM

Giants are gonna need to eventually develop some young talent not named Buster Posey, Sandoval, Matt Cain or Bumgarner. Plus I think they let Timmy walk after this season. Gary Brown is going to be a good glove guy in CF, but not sure about the bat. They have another pitching prospect that has high upside, but you can’t keep winning with corpses playing 2B and other positions.
If I’m Tulo or Cargo, I ask for a trade as soon as possible. Colorado is a dumpster fire. San Diego has a lot of nice pieces, but none are top 10-15 prospects worthy.

They should. That team has a great core of young talent though. So long as Sabean doesn’t revert to signing role-playing veterans for too long and too much (Pagan might qualify though) they have a very bright future ahead of them.
I can’t see how the Dodgers model of business is sustainable. Don’t care how much their recent TV deal was worth.

January 24th, 2013 at 2:53 PM
They will. Still under team control for 2013 and 2014, too. I have to think with the money they just got that any player they deem as part of the core, especially young homegrown ones like Kershaw, will get whatever they want in a contract.
It’s the acquisitions like Crawford and Gonzalez last year that I don’t think they can continue to do. Just look at how much money those guys command 4 years from now. They’re both in their decline phases as well.

January 24th, 2013 at 2:58 PM
I think Skaggs is an overrated prospect. From everything I read, his fastball rarely touches 90, and he doesn’t have a third pitch. Sounds like a future reliever to me.
January 24th, 2013 at 2:59 PM
Still, if you’re going to trade someone, at least get a player of equal or greater value in return. Arizona traded two assets valued highly around baseball for nickels on the dollar.
Why not just hold on to them? Especially when Arizona had a great deal worked out with Seattle but Upton just nixed it. It’s not like he’s going anywhere soon. Same with Bauer.
January 24th, 2013 at 2:59 PM

January 24th, 2013 at 3:06 PM
I am fine with the return they got on Upton. Would have much rather preferred the haul from Seattle but realistically his value was going to plummet staying here.
There was a chance Upton could have returned to form or he could have just gone into a shell, played another season like he did in 2012 and then you wouldn’t get anything for him. There is a very good chance Upton never reaches his perceived potential.
And like I said they worked on a deal with Prado.
January 24th, 2013 at 3:06 PM
Being historically bad makes them interesting on some level…the Rockies just pretty much exist and don’t compete

He pretty flamed out after the Braves traded him away, didn’t he? Atlanta used to be great at that — getting a couple of good seasons out of someone, then dealing them just as the decline started.

Including your parents? Got it.

Saw a Facebook post yesterday from my sister in law talking about planning her daughter’s FIRST birthday party and how it’s like a mini wedding reception. WHAT the fuck. Get a cake or whatever and take pictures of them making a mess of it but what the fuck are you spending money on a party for?

yep, and invite some of your friends that have kids so you adults to drink with
always with the booze. cj, when you get social with your kid, and you should–playdate groups–you will meet people to drink with, so everyone wins

Agreed that sounds extreme. I think the mustache theme can be pulled off rather cheaply. You spend the money because it’s fun to have a party. Now I wouldn’t go out and spend thousands or even hundreds, but a small party with friends and close family is fun and worth spending a little money on.

I threw a big drug party last weekend. Beat that, mustache party for babies.

And by last weekend, you mean every weekend

Agreed completely. The point of having kids is getting to socialize and drink with other parents right? That and having someone to shovel the driveway.

you’ll be a lot happier first time parents if you just surrender and realize it’s now all about the kids

Pretty sure he either led or came in second in HR for catchers last year. Before all you stat nerds attack me, no, I don’t think that’s indicative of a solid starter

Agree with this, though we don’t regularly get together with other families with kids. Our oldest is about to the age where play-dates and crap like that can begin.

Sounds horrible

I don’t even know what a big drug party is.
