Manti Te’o's latest interview is with ABC’s Katke Couric. In this interview, Te’o confesses to lying about his fake dead girlfriend after he found out that his dead girlfriend was a fake dead girlfriend. From ABC News

“Katie, put yourself in my situation. I, my whole world told me that she died on Sept. 12. Everybody knew that. This girl, who I committed myself to, died on Sept. 12,” Te’o said.

“Now I get a phone call on Dec. 6, saying that she’s alive and then I’m going be put on national TV two days later. And to ask me about the same question. You know, what would you do?” Te’o said.

He has a point. If Te’o wasn’t complicit in the fake dead girlfriend hoax, then he was just a dumb embarrassed kid on December 8th. I’ll tell you what’s not fake. That sweater.
