I am with Kaiser and Dikembe – I didn’t see why there was so much backlash on Hazard about this. The BALLBOY was walking over to pick up the ball. When he saw Hazard was coming over to do HIS JOB faster…the douchey BALLBOY shielded Hazard from the ball, created contact, and then used that contact as a reason to lay on the ball. His only job is to get the ball and get it back onto the pitch. Instead, he was laying on the ball to waste time. No idea why Chelsea tried to make everything right afterwards.

Little shit was trying to be cute and cost Chelsea some time. Doesn’t appear to be any reason that he’s on the pitch and flopping around. Most of the ball handling is done behind the sponsor LED things on the sidelines.

Little shit got what he had coming to him. Maybe next time he’ll do his job responsibly.

Statement from the club:

“South Wales Police interviewed the 17-year-old ball boy with his father after the game and neither wished to press any charges.
“It was an unfortunate incident which both parties regret being involved in.
“Chelsea invited the ball boy into the dressing room after the game to shake hands with Hazard and both parties apologised.
“The ball boy was very impressed with the welcome he received from the Chelsea players and as far as both clubs and individuals are concerned the matter is closed.’’
Hazard said: “The boy put his whole body onto the ball and I was just trying to kick the ball. I apologise.
“The ball boy came in the changing room and we had a quick chat and I apologised and the boy apologised as well, and it is over. Sorry.”

You wont because it’s one of the rules that isn’t enforced. I’m just saying if we’re going to be concerned about it off the pitch we should maybe enforce the rules on it first right?

Yes, if its consistent, but deciding that Chelsea’s win is illegitimate because you want a rule enforced that never is, isn’t right either.

Also the scoreboard suggests you just became the first team in seven years to fail to score in either leg of a league cup final, so yeah.

I remember being a ball boy for my high school team when i was a youngen. We’d fuck with the opposing team so bad basically because the guys told us to. it was pretty fun, the other team would get really really pissed with us.

We had an opposing player run over one of our ball boys my senior year. Like, just crush this 10-year old. He got up and tried to hit this player. It was fantastic.
