Their oline isn’t great, but the crappiness of their skill players is largely overstated. A lot of Sam Bradford’s problems are of his own creation – checkdown artist, holds onto the ball forever, etc. He’s thoroughly mediocre, and once that talent catches up around him he’ll be exposed.

BTW speaking of unlucky, Cam Newton’s new OC is Mike Shula. Not sure on that one.

People don’t give him enough credit as a passer yet.

Arm is great, no doubt. But they have the ability to create large passing windows and there is no need for traditional reading of progressions. It’s a very simplified and effective offense. I will say he’s looked good on third down however, the one situation in which Kaep isn’t greatly benefited by run action.

How is the 49ers cap space. I was thinking if they got Josh Cribbs, could put him in the backfield along with Kaep for 2-5 plays a game as a dual run threat along with return duties.

Not worth it. That’s what LaMichael James will do next year after they let Ginn walk. Cap space should be fine the next few years. Goldson will be a casualty, but oh well.

The Rams aren’t that bad of a team. Their defensive line is very good, and they have good pieces in the secondary. Plus, conventional logic doesn’t always apply in divisional matchups.

It reminds me a bit of the Seattle situation – the Seahawks showed a lot of improvement last year, and just needed some additional pieces to take the next step. Wouldn’t be surprised, at all, to see the Rams at 8-8/9-7 next season. Thier biggest hindrance is Sam Bradford.
