DK, I am an ND fan and I don’t completely believe his story. I believe he could have been duped over the internet. I think many of the details he provided in his SI story were lies. I would have a small amount of sympathy for him if it turned out he was gay and was using this relationship to hide his sexuality. It’s sad when people feel they have to hide who they are to escaping bullying and ridicule. I still think the guy is a fucking moron, and the university choosing to comment on this story was an even more moronic move.

If it can be circumvented, ostensibly based on a writer saying, “Yeah, it’s all good, bro.”, then why I have fact checking in the first place?

I think the issue was the fact checker confirmed what Teo told Thamel with Teo, but didn’t do any further digging, even as it became clear that there was no record of an accident (they removed the drunk driver part).
