Ballin’: Watch Terrence Ross Soar for a One-Handed Put-Back Dunk and JaVale McGee Slam Home Two Better Dunks
Brooklyn 113, Toronto 106: The Nets’ Big 3 scored 65 points (22 from Lopez, 21 from Deron & Joe), and the post-Avery Johnson surge continues. Here comes the cold water – yes, that’s seven wins in a row but guess how many opponents had a winning record? Just two (OKC, which started the run) and Indiana. The others: Washington, Sacramento, Philadelphia, Phoenix and now Toronto. If you watch no other Ballin’ videos, please just watch the Ross put-back, and wait for the slow motion version. What a ridiculously athletic play.
LA Lakers 104, Milwaukee 88: The Lakers contained Ellis and Jennings (10-for-30), and got 31 apiece from Kobe and Dwight Howard. That’s two wins in a row heading into Thursday’s showdown with Miami. If you think the Lakers are getting healthy, and just needed 35ish games to get on the same page, go take them +1500 to win the title. So $100 on a team with three Hall of Famers wins you $1,500. Just hope they don’t draw the Clippers or Thunder early.
Indiana 103, Charlotte 76: How are the Pacers 24-15? Anyone? Is Lance Stephenson the key? Paul George? The Bobcats are 9-29.
LA Clippers 117, Houston 109: Without Chris Paul, two nights in a row, the Clippers have beaten the Grizzlies and Rockets. How good is the Paper Clips’ bench? They were able to start Bledsoe (19 points, seven assists) and Willie Green (15 points) in the backcourt, and got 30 points from Jamal Crawford (30 points) in reserve. Jeremy Lin watch: 12 points, 10 assists in defeat.
Philadelphia 99, New Orleans 111: The good news is Andrew Bynum’s ETA is after the All-Star break. The problem? They might be too far out of playoff contention (16-23 now) to get to the postseason. Other than Jrue Holiday (29 points), the 76ers are a hot mess.
Denver 115, Portland 111, OT: Go up and get it, JaVale. Twice.

Because they are by far the best defensive team in the league.

I mean I think the Lakers are fucked but wouldn’t they rather get a tough matchup early because they’re going to wear down faster than any of these teams as the playoffs go on?
Also I loved Sportscenter treating a win over the Bucks as a sign they’re back and that Howard is “on a tear” over a two game streak.

Didn’t Crawford abuse Lin for like 10 straight baskets at one point last night?

Houston is a defensive abomination. They were lit up by Bledsoe, Barnes, Green, Crawford.

In other words, they just let them shoot.

Zach Lowe has a good piece on this over at Grantland.

Yep, it is a good piece…and it reiterates what I’ve been saying for weeks now…they are playing defense at an extremely, extremely high level.

amazing what the Pacers can do when Granger isn’t on the floor to bitch out in crucial moments.

The Nuggets-Blazers game was really good. Those teams are fun to watch.

Begrudgingly, I’ll admit it. Start of the season, I thought the Grizz had the edge over the Clippers for the #3 seed in the West.
Now, it looks like Memphis is gonna have to do work just to keep the 4th slot. Clippers have really turned up the heat lately.
