Notre Dame has chosen to stand by their man. Irish Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick addressed reporters this evening, just hours after the news came out that Manti Te’o's dead girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, never existed. Swarbrick expressed support for Te’o and said that Te’o had nothing to do with the hoax. At one point, Swarbrick got choked up, saying:

“The single most trusting human being I’ve ever met will never be able to trust in the same way again in his life. That’s an incredible tragedy.”

Notre Dame is all in. Swarbrick and the school must believe Te’o's side of the story, which we will hopefully get tomorrow when Swarbrick believes that Te’o may speak to the media.
