Taj Gibson Dunk Reaction From Announcer Stacey King Mentions Facebook and a Friend Request. Why is He Still Using This?
All, Media Gossip/Musings, NBA, Video January 15th. 2013, 10:05am
“Does anybody know how to post videos to Facebook! Oh my goodness. Taj Gibson just friend requested him! WWW.MyFace.com!” Why is he still using this? Hey Stacey, hope you can put this one on your ESPN audition tape. [Sidenote: Stacey King vs. Danny Manning in 1988: What a title game.]
I think we’ve hit a new low in NBA announcing. It’s times like these when I miss a simple call from Marv Albert:
“Oh what a move by Jordan … it counts, and the foul!”

I think we’ve hit a new low in NBA announcing.
Your boy Gus Johnson is responsible for this. And that was a horrible call straight out of the Gus Johnson Guide to Piss Viewers Off.

Its sports. Cmon people. Untwist the undies

When has Gus Johnson ever gone with something stupid like this? He just screams, which I have no problem with.

His partner is worse. It’d be great if they took Swirsk off the radio and put him together with Stacey. Put Neil Funk back on the radio with Wennington.
… the Bulls won by 39, allowing 5 points in a quarter to a professional team, and this is your take-away. Mmmmmmmmk.

And while we’re at it…can sports broadcasters and anchors please stop wearing business attire? Espn2 had one thing right when it started….leather jackets (and thea)

I didn’t actually understand what Stacey was screaming, because he was screaming. Upon further listening, yeah, what Stacey said was incredibly dumb. However, you have to take in to account that he went to Oklahoma. We aren’t necessarily dealing with a full deck here.

The Bulls rarely show up in Ballin’ so be happy they were covered at all…the hate from Knick fans towards them is undying
I just liked how they had to specify that this was only the fewest regular season points the Bulls have ever allowed thanks to the ’98 Finals and the glorious 54 put up by the Jazz…fuck John Stockton

coming from the guy who talks about weak gear and played out haircuts, this is kind of confusing.

I actually like Stacey King. Think he’s pretty fun for a local announcer, and unlike Gus Johnson, can occasionally contribute meaningful things to a game broadcast. Can he be annoying sometimes? Sure. But so can you, J-Mac. And yet, here I am.

Thought this was totally uncalled for, too.
January 15th, 2013 at 10:53 AM
So you don’t find Gus screaming about a 5 yard curl route that has zero chance of turning into a bigger play annoying?

Assume its a dated reference to this AT&T ad.

Gus Johnson says something this stupid during every single broadcast he’s ever done.
He is the worst.

Exactly.

…”sick burn”…”Jumbo Fisher”…using wins (specifically playoff road wins) as a metric of a QB’s value.
