Former Syracuse Media Director Charged With Unlawful Surveillance, Allegedly Made Secret Videos of Athletes
Roger Springfield, the former media director for Syracuse’s athletics department has been charged with four counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance. Springfield has been accused of making secret videos of athletes in the locker rooms. From Syracuse.com:
The indictment charges Springfield with making secret videos on Nov. 10, 2012, two times in the spring of 2010 and on occasions in the fall of 2010, as well as April 14, 2012.
Defense lawyer James McGraw said the most recent incident from November occurred in Florida while the others occurred here in Syracuse.
McGraw also said the alleged incidents followed football, lacrosse and soccer games. He said Springfield is accused of making videos of athletes in locker rooms.
The investigation started after the November incident. Springfield led police to the other recordings according to his attorney.
“There is no evidence of any sexual misbehavior,” McGraw said, noting Springfield is married and has three adult children.
So he recorded athletes in the locker room for non-sexual reasons. He must have planned to use the footage to promote the university. [Syracuse.com]

Because married men have never done anything lewd or lascivious outside the bonds of marriage.

I like that he never apologized for threatening to kill people. Just that he didn’t mean to overthrow the government.
