Last year, Bernard Tomic was the story of the Australian Open (Sports Blogs Edition) because he was there with his model girlfriend, Donay Meijer. This year, Tomic has returned, but he has a new girlfriend in tow – Chelsey Grbcic a former Miss Croatia Gold Coast. Chelsey Grbcic is a law student (Meijer was in pharmacy school) who was captain of her high school rowing team. Tomic won his first round match against Leonardo Mayer in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3. Less than two weeks ago, Tomic beat Novak Djokovic in the Hoffman Cup. Last Sunday, Tomic won his first ATP title. Finally, something is working out for this kid. For the 2014 Australian Open, Tomic will no doubt be escorted by a perky 22-year old blonde astronaut.
