Maddest I’ve been recently is 2005 PSU vs. Michigan. The final drive in which Michigan scored on the last play after the officials let Avant catch passes out of bounds, the home clockkeeper was clearly doing everything in their power to extend the game, etc.

I was at that game, standing on the sidelines when Avant caught that ball OOB (saw it with my own eyes), then in the end zone when Manningham broke open for the game winning TD. That place went absolutely bonkers, players were about ready to assault the officials, it was bedlam. Paterno refused to bring his players out to speak with the media. The entire thing was a disaster.

That loss is somewhat of a blessing in disguise. PSU would have been undefeated, but no way in hell they would have leapfrogged Texas or USC in the rankings at any point of the year. I think those two were 1 and 2 every week of the season. Going undefeated and not going to the championship game would have sucked.

Most crushing/saddest I’ve been is different than mad. Definitely the Game 7 of the NLCS vs. Atlanta (Sid Bream game) is tops on the list. Also the AFC Title game against San Diego (at this point I had still not seen the Steelers play in a Super Bowl), Game 7 Pens vs. Islanders as the Pens were going for 3 Cups in a row, etc.
