Milk Steak, you seem so sure that DC will solve the zone-read, but have not really given a solution besides “hit the QB.” Much more complicated than that, as WAS still utilized aspects of it with Kirk Cousins (though to a lesser extent).

So this will remain true with a running QB? 11 on 10 is folly against Newton/Kapernick/RGIII/Wilson. You saw the 11 on 10 aspect against these zone read teams this year. My argument is that a NFL d-coordinator will, given time, render much of the zone read moot, like Bill Belicheck did to the wildcat.

This whole idea of always hitting the QB is a bit silly and unrealistic. This isn’t college. NFL guys are trained to tackle the ball carrier. When they see the QB doesn’t have it, they’ll leave him alone. They don’t always hit the RB on play action, why would they always hit the QB on the inside give? Also, NFL defenses are designed to focus 11 players against 10 – the QB is generally left alone. Keying on the QB and always hitting him plays right into the hands of teams like SanFran and Seattle, who have great running games without the zone read and QBs that can throw. Finally, in the current environment of injury-prevention, I guarantee that if “always hit the QB” becomes the standard, that will be a penalty by 2014.

Siva will give Napier and Boatright hell. On their own, Syracuse and Louisville can score 70+ points. Last year down in the Ville, they played a game in the 50s because the defenses were just punishing.

What do you mean by suffocate? Uconn is susceptible on the boards, but can handle the ball and get in the paint against anyone. Scoring inside will be tough I imagine.

I was really hoping that Scott Pioli would stay at KC or get hired somewhere. I can see an nice package of Michael Turner and Roddy White in exchange for multiple draft choices.

Get Jadeveon Clowney and a new WR through free agency or the draft.

My wife hates football season. I’ve cut back big time on watching football now that we have a little one, but in my wife’s perfect world I’d only watch the Georgia game on Saturday’s and that would be that.

Yep, used to sit down with beers for Gameday, then proceed to drink through whoever Hawaii was playing at 2:00 am. Not anymore. OSU had a bunch of 12:00 games this year, whcih meant no excessive drinking and a kid running around. I think my wife would schedule her haircuts for Saturdays just to rub it in.

The best part of my wife hating football is watching my 10-month old raise her arms in the air when I say “touchdown!” to her. She barely waves goodbye to you, but you say touchdown loud enough she’ll raise her arms up. It cracks me up every time.
