Seattle trailed 20-0 at the half as turnovers, missed fourth down chances, and a botched opportunity to add a field goal at the end of the half conspired to put them in a deep hole. They came all the way back in the second half, with a key swing play being Earl Thomas’ interception of Matt Ryan to provide hope. Marshawn Lynch scored on a razor thin call at the goal line where he just crossed the line before fumbling again to give Seattle it’s first lead.

There were still 31 seconds left, though. Seattle’s pass defense failed on two consecutive completions by Atlanta to get to a 49 yard kick. Matt Bryant missed the first opportunity, but of course, timeout was called. He nailed the second.

A wild squib  kick gave Seattle the ball at midfield with 6 seconds left. Russell Wilson had a chance for one final Hail Mary, but this one resulted in only one team with possession: Atlanta.
