ESPN Aired the Quickest 3.6 Seconds in Basketball History [Video]
All, College Basketball, Video January 10th. 2013, 3:25pm
What an eventful night of college basketball. West Virginia beat Texas in overtime in a battle of unranked teams. There was some excitement at the end of regulation as the Longhorns’ Jonathan Holmes hit a three-pointer with 3.6 seconds remaining on the clock. Apparently, ESPN had seen enough because as soon as the ball went through the basket, the scoreboard graphic flashed FINAL. The teams played on for some reason.

I assume Louisville was prominently involved.

gnarly

This JPEG of Jonathan Holmes drawing up the play with his teammates is mesmerizing.

Who wants to pick some nits?/em>
looks like one of our family portraits
January 10th, 2013 at 3:34 PM
UPDATE: as several people have pointed out, that is not from the game, but from the 2004 motion picture “The Alamo.”
January 10th, 2013 at 3:35 PM
So this is a free for all?
Good.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:37 PM
Was that drawn by the guy who did Ugly Americans?

I tried to hold in my laugh, and I snorted. Just thought you should know.

Don’t get cocky moleman, if it was really funny, she’d have gone into labor.

January 10th, 2013 at 3:48 PM
is that his 3rd committment? jesus christ kid.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:49 PM
Soused: read the NY Mag piece on that shitty movie with the porn star and Lohan. Good read. Hollywood is so fucked up.
Thanks a lot, Brian Kelly. All Muschamp needs is more talent in defense. Dickbag.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:50 PM
Florida got a kid to sign the other day who flipped at least that many between UF and Clemson. Some stuf WR out of Georgia. This is why getting excited about a kid committing is fine, but you’d better not assume anything is final until they sign that paper.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:51 PM
This is brilliant. /Clowney’d

I thought he was going to Penn State after that whole Ohio State sex offender thing? Shows how much I pay attention to the local news
January 10th, 2013 at 3:51 PM
Have some people committed to seeing it with me opening night (should it actually get theatrical release), the hook was malt liquor and R&R whiskey.

UGA is trying to hold onto Shaq Wiggins and everyone is going after him in the south it seems. Gonna be a long 25(ish) days per usual.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:52 PM
no shit…this kid decommited from OSU, all the talk was PSU, commits to ND and now florida? he doesn’t even know where he’s going, let alone a reporter!

Just got year-end credit card statement. Spent 5% of our income at Home Depot.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:55 PM
Well, he’s from the same town as Taylor Swift, if that says anything about his indecisiveness and immaturity.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:55 PM
Fuck you Brian Kelly.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:56 PM
That’s recruiting today. You can’t hide kids like you used to be able to. Just have to deal with kids being in love with the attention coupled with being young. It has to drive college coaches insane.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:57 PM
Soused, if you live in Toronto, Imma hunt you down this weekend and say hello.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:58 PM
that says all too much, actually. excellent nugget of info!
January 10th, 2013 at 3:58 PM
I know Bama and Clemson are set to steal Auburn’s top two recuits. Not sure if both will flip, but most think that’s the case. Anyone else jumping ship? Always seems like we have 5 or so high profile WTF moments this time of the year.
January 10th, 2013 at 3:58 PM
Of course… they also group “Tractor Supply Co.” under vehicle expenses. But looking at this (we put almost all our spending on cc’s because of the cash back) is pretty disgusting. I might be sick, looking at what we spent on gas and food last year.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:00 PM
My wife does a monthly spread sheet of out expenditures and can show me what we spend on gas, food and all of that shit. The numbers are pretty depressing, actually.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:02 PM
Well, he’s from the same town as Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift
January 10th, 2013 at 4:03 PM
Mine does/did this, and I gave up paying attention, because Chase does it for us. It’s ridiculously depressing. 60%+ of our food spending came at restaurants.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:03 PM
Sounds like we’re knife fighting. I’ve never knife fought before sober, still though I don’t like your chances. I’m in The Junction, Toronto.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:04 PM
I mean it was 60% of our grocery spending. So more like 35% of total food. But still.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:05 PM
Jacabo is the finest knife fighter I have ever seen.
Perhaps you should get out more.

Hes gone as far as he’s going to in cfb. Second place

By the spidery arms of Areop Enap I cast that book into the endless salt sea.
/In seriousness though I hate that book
//If a novel was serialized for newspaper it’s almost always terrible
January 10th, 2013 at 4:09 PM
they have a deal on yahoo today showing all the guys that haven’t given verbals yet, and ole piss came up on there quite a bit. if they land even half those guys, they might be a decent team here over the next couple years.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:09 PM
Isn’t it Jacopo?

I’d put him on par with Saban’s overrated three titles* in four years
* not real titles
January 10th, 2013 at 4:12 PM
They made a book out of that movie?
I don’t know. Like I said, there’s a book? I didn’t read the novelization so I don’t remember spelling. Was Luis Guzman on the book jacket?
January 10th, 2013 at 4:12 PM
Hope you have some bad ass cabinets, flooring or windows.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:13 PM
They are all waiting for a rich Taco Bell-owning alumnus to bribe them to go there.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:14 PM
I’ve got a chimney that won’t burn down, a fire wood rack, a couple toilets and new faucets, replaced the non-working ceiling fans…
/fixer-upper
January 10th, 2013 at 4:16 PM
I’d like that. I suppose we could do that with our CC as most things get put on that.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:19 PM
Sucks. I don’t mind doing all the fixes around the house. But on the larger items it’s nice to do more rewarding stuff, like new flooring, etc.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:25 PM
My wife wants new flooring, but we can’t afford it. We just decided to re-paint the downstairs bathroom, replace the trim, and get the faucet in the kitchen replaced, and that’s pushing $500, for pretty much maintaining status quo.
And we are lucky ones… got a good deal on the house, and have a nice amount of land for the city. I can’t imagine the people underwater on a mortgage sinking more money in the house on repairs.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:37 PM
we’re finally moved into our house. every wall and ceiling repainted, some with up to 5 coats (3 layers Kilz, two coats regular wall paint). 80% of the floors replaced (kept the only hardwood that came with the house…added some hardwood, replaced all carpet, and tiled bathrooms and kitchen). replaced all locks, interior hinges (doors and cabinets) and door knobs.
/shoots self
January 10th, 2013 at 4:42 PM
Why not just have a house built miz?
January 10th, 2013 at 4:44 PM
cause that would have cost a lot more and come with 1/4th* the land we got.
*that’s 16/64 to you, TBL
January 10th, 2013 at 4:45 PM
Sounds familiar. Where did you end up buying? Did you find a place with decent land?
(can email if you dont want to comment stuff)
January 10th, 2013 at 4:49 PM
in a ‘hood down in Williamson Co. right off of the Peytonsville Rd. exit. got 1.1 acres but the house is beside a 5+ acre flood plain so nobody will ever build there. kinda like having 6+ acres, except I only have to mow 17/102 of it!
January 10th, 2013 at 4:53 PM
WWOS – also, you have a fireplace, no? is it strictly wood-burning or is it gas? we have a gas fireplace but it has a full chimney with a flu and damper…my brother said it may be one of the wood-gas fireplaces like at Cracker Barrel. you know anything about that? I don’t.
January 10th, 2013 at 4:57 PM
You guys live a bit away then… I guess I can’t complain about my commute as much, since I’m still in Davidson county, between OHB and Concord. Our lot is mostly woods (little to mow) and next to 8 acres of undeveloped woods, too… which is nice, but explains all the deer/coyotes/fox/raccoon that enjoy strolling through the yard.
The dusk-dawn motion light was definitely an investment I’m happy with.
engineers, amiright?
January 10th, 2013 at 5:00 PM
25 miles from my house to my office (between Cummins Station and the new Music City Center). 45-60 minutes in the morning, 60-90 minutes in the evening. fuck this traffic bullshit. it’s worse for my wife cause she has to drive Wedgewood…I’m mostly interstate.
January 10th, 2013 at 5:01 PM
Ours is strictly wood-burning, and we’ve gone through nearly half a rick in the last week when it got cold. I really don’t know much about them… but if you have properly-vented triple wall pipe, I don’t see why it couldn’t, as long as the box is made for it. Maybe look up the brand name/model, either in the top/side of the box or on a tag in the screen.
January 10th, 2013 at 5:04 PM
Geez, I hated our location being 20 minutes (with no traffic) and 30+ with traffic but it’s rarely ever bad like that. And my hours are flexible so I can leave just after traffic has calmed down some.
January 10th, 2013 at 5:05 PM
Don’t run me over then… I’m going for a run and I usually go down broadway to 8th, and some idiot always manages to not see me.
January 10th, 2013 at 5:09 PM
I can make it in 35 minutes in the mornings if I leave before 6:45 and I can rarely get out of the office earlier than 5:30.
my daughter’s daycare in Cool Springs doesn’t open till 7:00 though so when I drop her off, I’m usually not back on I-65 till 7:20 at the earliest and the volume has really picked up by then. in the evenings, it’s the bottleneck between Hwy 96 and Peytonsville that’s such a bear. fuck TDOT.
January 10th, 2013 at 5:12 PM
just don’t hop on a bike and I promise not to run you off the road. those guys are the worst. the. worst.
January 10th, 2013 at 5:59 PM
fuck bikers. and fuck runners who jump in front of cars or cross into traffic. i get pissed when people cut me off when i have a walk sign, but i’ll never cut off a car when it has the right of way.
