Carmelo Anthony Wanted to Fight Kevin Garnett, So He Went Out to the Celtics Team Bus Looking For Him
Carmelo Anthony mixed it up with Kevin Garnett on the court Monday during Boston’s 102-96 victory at Madison Square Garden. Words were exchanged. KG backpedaled like the studio gangster that he is. After the game, ‘Melo was so heated, he tried to get a word with KG outside the Celtics’ locker room.
Thwarted there, he didn’t give up. Carmelo went out to the Boston team bus to try and confront Garnett. KG only steps to guards and Europeans, so it’s no surprise he didn’t face Anthony like a man.
The Knicks visit Boston January 24th. Circle it on your calendar.

Interesting take.

This delights me to no end. Melo couldn’t handle being shut down to the tune of 6-26.

Isn’t Melo the originator of the “slap and run” fighting technique?
/LOL NBA “Fights”

Never change TBL

Cat fight. Hisss, meow.

Not surprised Melo is dumb enough to do something like that. I’m sure the Knicks would love to see him get suspended.

Garnett’s a bitch but if Carmelo really wanted to fight him, he should’ve just fought him on the court. Garnett continues to get away with his tactics because he knows who he can bully and who he can’t. There’s a reason why Stephen Jackson or Ron Artest never fought with Garnett. KG knows better than to mess with those guys.

if KG would have stepped off the bus, melo would have yelled and ran off. he is the epitome of a bitch. plus, KG would kill him.

would love to see this.

People who do a lot of “hold me backs” in a fight. They also wait til everyone has rushed in and calmed the situation before taking up aggressive posturing again. Knowing full well that no matter how much they yell and scream, 10-15 people are there to make sure they don’t actually start a fight.
January 8th, 2013 at 10:52 AM
Absolutely. This is the same Carmelo that started a fight at MSG while with the Nuggets and backpedaled the entire time like a bitch.
January 8th, 2013 at 10:52 AM
I really don’t like KG. But I love the fact that after the game, Melo was still stewing about all this shit and trying the Ultimate “Hold Me Back Move” by the fake storm of the bus.
KG had probably long since forgotten what he even did and Melo all upset. Hilarious.
Melo is a fabulous pussy. Blast that fucker right in the jaw on the court or GTFO. Too bad it came to that Melo. You were a pussy for so many years you have to show you aint one now. Get outta here clown.

They should link this video to the Urban Dictionairy page of Studio Gangster.

I can’t wait for KG to retire and spiral out of control. Hundred bucks says he gets beat-down in Vegas in under a year
January 8th, 2013 at 10:58 AM
This is true. KG is an asshole, but damn it if he isn’t an effective asshole. KG already won this battle. Carmelo lost it as soon as he decided to wait by the bus.
January 8th, 2013 at 11:01 AM
See Walker, Antoine. However, I do imagine KG pacing back and forth frantically dying of boredom and not competing.
January 8th, 2013 at 11:03 AM
Um TBL, not sure how to put this, but isn’t calling Garnett a “studio gangster” analogous to calling him a “cornball brother?”
January 8th, 2013 at 11:04 AM
If Melo wanted to fight so bad then why didn’t he walk into the Celts locker room or step onto the bus? He is as much of a bitch as Rex Ryan is.
January 8th, 2013 at 11:06 AM
So he’s a man if he “faces” Anthony and gets in a pushing match where no punches are thrown because there are people and cameras everywhere, but he isn’t a man for ignoring Anthony’s immature tirade? Interesting.
January 8th, 2013 at 11:07 AM
Come on, this is the guy who said Lin had a “kung-fu grip” on the NBA. What do you expect?
January 8th, 2013 at 11:08 AM
Disappointed four Celtics bench guys didn’t attack Melo from behind with a tire iron, Four Horsemen style.
January 8th, 2013 at 11:08 AM
KG is ten times smarter than Antoine was. I don’t see the same fate befalling him.
I do think he’ll go absolutely crazy without a competitive outlet.
January 8th, 2013 at 11:36 AM
KG will spend his last nickel the same day he strokes out. Sometime around age 53.
January 8th, 2013 at 11:52 AM
Studio gangsters are far more dangerous than real ones, because they often feel like they have to justify their status which means they’re more prone to do something stupid, reckless, and dangerous or better yet pay someone to do it for them. What is even more telling about the dudes on here is the notion that you have to be a gangster, studio or any kind to get to the point that you want to fight.

This is why tasers exist
Exactly. Amazing how the tone of the post is anything other than ‘Melo is a jackass. This incident is Chris Mills-esque
He was playing some serious D on JR Smith. Got called for some garbage fouls. Celtics are semi-back with AB. As back as a team can be with their middling depth, at least
On another note, Scott Skiles parted ways with the Bucks, as predicted. His frustration couldn’t have been more obvious

Thug Life.
Marlon Wayans went in on Tupac about that on the Champs podcast.
January 8th, 2013 at 2:32 PM
Garnett: King of the Fake Tough Guys. Melo: Heir to the throne.
January 8th, 2013 at 2:45 PM
Kendall Gill almost knocked out Steve Smith near the lockerroom after a game, Buck Williams and Lonnie Shelton used to get into it routinely on and off the court, Rick Fox and Doug Christie got into it in the tunnel, Willis Reid tried to take on half the LA Lakers bench. All of that was about someone being mad enough that they wanted to kick someone’s ass. Some of those guys, like Shelton, or Reid, Rick Mahorn, Jeff Ruland, Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason or others were enforcers or intimidators. So, all this bullshit consternation about Melo going in the back to meet KG isn’t about something that is new. Hell, Zach Randolph went looking for Kendrick Perkins just this season in the same manner. The difference between those guys and someone like a Garnett is they were willing to put those hands up and back up the talk and the mean mugging. KG on the other hand runs away or becomes a pacifist when confronted. It’s not about getting under someone’s skin because he will take on someone smaller, or someone who obviously isn’t looking to fight like when he mushed Tim Duncan back in the day. So, yeah the story IS about KG being confronted 3 times in an hour and running away each time by someone who called him every name in the book and let him know he wanted to kick his ass.

Tupac was the Jesus Christ of mall set everywhere. Especially the ones who throw around terms like studio gangsters.
