Christian Ponder Couldn’t Play Against the Packers Because His Arm Looked Like This
Christian Ponder was a late scratch Saturday for the Vikings’ playoff game in Green Bay with bruised triceps. His replacement, Joe Webb, wasn’t effective through the air and Minnesota lost, 24-10.
(Interesting aside: Al Michaels mentioned during the game the NBC crew knew about Ponder’s injury Friday night. How did it not leak out until Saturday afternoon?)
A reporter, Shari Gross, got a photo of Ponder’s arm today, and while it looks pretty bad, remember, this is days after it was awful.

why not? they were both too injured to be effective in a playoff game against Green Bay, and their backups both royally shit the bed. seems like an apt comparison in this case.

Please. Joe Webb is lightyears away from Caleb Hanie.

Why would we not compare Ponder to Cutler? Cutler was seriously injured- torn MCL- and Ponder is obviously injured, too. Not sure I get it…

It didn’t leak till Saturday because if the game crews start leaking info, they won’t get anything at all from the coaches and teams. If you ever listen to an Al Michael’s interview about the subject, he takes it VERY seriously that anything they tell him or the game crew is confidential til the game begins.

Was he referring to them listing him as questionable on Friday with the elbow?

Because NBC uses good ethical practices.

Fixed for Al Michaels-speak

This black backround sucks. Can’t see the text without highlighting it. If only someone with some computer knowledge worked at TBL.

It’s pretty amazing he was able to make the throws he did in the second half of the Week 17 game…Toradol rule the day then?

If only RGIII’s ACL was visible from outside of his body.

Does Shanahan have dirt on Francesa, such as he enjoys diet coke a little too much because the guy is saying Andrews didn’t come out and protest the RGIII decision and he didn’t call the bootlegs or at least we don’t know he called that. Guy is blowing him more than he does Parcells.

Ah okay so he implied they knew what was going on beyond the bursitis report? Was watching at a bar and couldn’t hear the booth.

But what about his pecs?
January 7th, 2013 at 2:13 PM
ponder? i dont even know her yet!

Was the Cutler reference removed? I don’t see it.
Also, this could look better than it did a few days ago. Can anyone explain why we would see this bruising with his injury?
