Texas A&M destroyed Oklahoma 41-13 in the Cotton Bowl, running up 633 total yards on 66 plays. Heisman winner Johnny Manziel completed 22/34 for 287 yards, ran for 229 yards on 17 carries and had four total touchdowns. Gus Johnson was on the call.
FOX did not hunt down his girlfriend in the crowd, though we’re sure she enjoyed this performance.

That was just a ridiculous performance.
/Thayer Evans still wouldn’t have him on his Heisman ballot.
//what a douche

Gus Johnson was on the call.
And he was as bad as he ever was. Holy shit. I can’t believe he has a job. There must be a bunch of high schoolers that love his stuff, because I can’t imagine any rational sports watching adult to like his fake enthusiasm. He is so bad.
Manziel was a beast. Dayem.

I never heard of this Thayer Evans before today but on SI.com he is already on the “wait til next year” dirge. New OC, new line, Johnny has been spending too much time on Letterman, blah blah blah. Evans sounds like a real douchebag with a grudge.

I know one guy who absolutely loves his schtick, and he just so happens to write for this site…
Gus Johnson is THEE worst. WORST.

Johnny is awesome, it just blows my mind. I saw him up close last night, and he is tiny. I don’t get how he does what he does. Aggie will be a force next year.

I don’t know, he didn’t seem bad in the highlights.
And I look forward to seeing Johnny Football wreak havoc in the SEC for at least another 2 seasons.

cmon now. plenty of small folks have done well in cfb and nfl. i’ll start with hester, darrell green…
i’m guessing you mean at QB, but much of what makes him special is his running, so my point stands

He is one of the smallest qbs I have ever seen, and he runs really well. That combo is not common.

he’s bigger than russell wilson and doug flutie and nearly as big as rg3
jm is 6-1 200, rg3 is 6-2, 217
brees is 6-0, 209
not attacking you, just showing what i found when i looked it up

Unless Chris Fowler is a solid 6’7″, I remember Manziel looking about 5’10″ or so standing next to him. I would find it hard to believe his listed height is legit.

This is because his faux enthusiasm is constant, so big plays are the only time he is an adequate football announcer. I used to like Davis, but was watching this game with some friends, and one pointed out Davis’ chronic use of the rhetorical question. It is highly annoying.
“Texas A&M is tough to defend. Why? Because they play with great pace and Johnny Manziel is a special football player”
