since the person serving isn’t the only person that benefits from the tip, I make sure to tip everytime. The better the service, the more the tip. If it’s subpar, I just give the standard tip. But those people work hard for that money, and have to put up with alot of assholes who want to big time servers in order to feel important, which is dumb to me, because I never try to make the people who prepare my food out of my sight angry.

Agreed both are too high under that (made-up?) metric.

Not sure of Wilbon’s specifics, but I can see the anti-stat argument to a degree as applied to the NBA. I’m not a great believer in the publically available general metrics (ex: PER) and the stat driven front offices have had middling success, but none of the good stuff is publicized by teams or handicappers alike
