This seems like Horrible Bosses come to life.
According to the high court’s decision, Knight complained to Nelson toward the end of her employment that her clothes were tight and “distracting.” Cochrane said Knight asked her repeatedly to dress differently.

They do, but Mason is a quality QB (not Murray good, but good nonetheless) and the defense can’t be any worse than this year’s abortion. I think 10-2 sounds about right for UGA next year. 9-3 on the low end and 11-1 on the top end. Brutal opening month that fades to an easier back half.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:30 AM
Rich Rodriguez.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:31 AM
Ray Lewis is the greatest linebacker of all time. Top five defensive player of all time. Cannot wait to see how that team comes out Sunday afternoon.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:32 AM
Derek Dooley is available. and nobody in Georgia has ever heard of Oregon, so if Barbara talked about it on the radio, nobody would notice.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:33 AM
He gonna play QB?
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:35 AM
speaking of Ray Lewis, I heard an interview the other day with Joe Flacco. mind you, my only exposure to Flacco is through the eyes and words of dear commenter spencer096. I assumed this interview was going to prove Joe was way more intelligent that spencer credited him. I was wrong. dude sounded like a cliche machine and even forced-laughed a few times during the interview. it was one of those Buzz Killington type of chuckles too. just awful.

Completely OT:
Why is the Packers logo just a G and not a G and a B? The city is Green Bay, not Green.
The Giants logo is an N and a Y
The 49ers logo is an S and an F
Padres, S and a D
For some reason this was bothering me as I was trying to fall asleep last night.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:39 AM
Not worried about Flacco. Worried about the O-Line and secondary. Still, the Colts are the fourth-worst playoff team EVER in DVOA rankings. Not sure how much that really matters (especially since the other three teams all won), but I like Baltimore at home. The week after? Not so much.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:40 AM
Their OC is the lead dog, no? Though if I were them I’d back up a mack truck full of Nike money on Chris Petersen’s doorstep.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:41 AM
Lawrence Taylor was a linebacker, right?
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:42 AM
Miz, he’s not a real charismatic guy. Then again, neither are the Mannings. I don’t much care how he performs in a press conference, only on the field.
I will say this — the guy always takes responsibility for losses whether they’re on him or not and is quick to give credit to others when the he and the Ravens play well.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:42 AM
I felt like that should have been added. Top 5 linebacker of all time, yeah probably, but saying he is the best ever just like that when you weren’t even alive when some of the other all-time greats played is a little premature.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:43 AM
I could definitely see Oregon being one of the few jobs Peterson would take a hard look at. It’s been tough to get him to leave Boise, but the location, opportunity and money involved would be real, real hard to ignore.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:44 AM

January 3rd, 2013 at 8:46 AM
I’ll fully admit that I don’t think greats from 30 or 40 years ago can hold a candle to the skills of modern athletes. That said, I’m certainly biased. For 15 years I’ve watched not just his greatness, but how much better he made teammates. I don’t know how you quantify that. But it can’t be ignored.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:46 AM
the Manning bro’s are uncharistmatic. Flacco is straight up awkward.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:47 AM
Barnwell confirmed his stupidity on that podcast numerous times. He claimed HOU barely used Foster last week, even though he nearly had 20 touches that game. Though, it is pretty cool he is going to both the BAL, and the WAS home playoff games on Sunday.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:49 AM
It apparently doesnt stand for “greatness”
Tiki Barber falsely reported[41] it to stand for “greatness” without a reliable source to back up his claims. Other reputable media outlets then published similar stories using Barber’s false claim as a source.[42] The Packers’ Assistant Director of PR and Corporate Communications had the following to say: “There’s nothing in our history that suggests there’s any truth to this.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:49 AM
holding a parking spot seems like quite the dick move. granted I wouldn’t try to run anyone over for it, but I would be sure to tell them what an asshole they are.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:49 AM
Schatz did the DVOA rankings, not Barnwell (who I generally like even though he’s really biased against certain teams for odd reasons).
I have no idea how he’s getting to both of those games. He’ll have to leave Baltimore at 2-2:30 to get into RFK by kickoff.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:49 AM
Agree. It’s a cultural fit and they can win big with him, but I also understand wanting to keep with Kelly’s offense. The problem is that do you get Kelly’s offense without Kelly there? I would think not.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:50 AM
Flacco sports an unibrow that would humble Sam The Eagle. If that’s not personality, I don’t know what is.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:50 AM
Lawrence Taylor, Dick Butkus and Jack Lambert were all better than Ray Lewis.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:50 AM
you’ve gone #3 to Ray Lewis, haven’t you?
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:51 AM
Probably more than “mild” – my Boilers are in serious rebuilding mode; were 6-6 coming in. Love the win, but I think they are going to be few and far between in the conference this season
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:51 AM
Yeah, if only Peyton Manning had more charisma. Maybe then he could do some commercials …
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:52 AM
I guess. It’s just never been something I cared about.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:52 AM
Outside of the ’99 Colts, who rode the Triplets 2.0 to 13 semi-fraudulent wins, this year’s squad has one and done written on it like no other Indy team I can recall. Worst double-digit team I’ve seen. And yet, them squeaking past Baltimore wouldn’t surprise me. Not would the Ravens hammering them by 28. I’ll be a huge Bengals fan Saturday, though. Have no desire to see the Colts to to Denver and give Peyton Manning a national stage who unleash any ill will he might harbor over being released.

How about we stop trying to compare players from different eras? I know it’s hard to do, because we want to rank everything, but it’s not apples to apples at all. The game in 1970 is nowhere near what it is today. Hell, the game in 2000 is nowhere near what it is today. It’s best to compare players to their contemporaries.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:53 AM
I don’t think Peterson is going anywhere. He’s got it too good a BSU. Anywhere else and there will be instant National Title expectations.
I’m also not convinced that Oregon will be able to win like they do now with a pro-style offense, which is what Peterson runs. That’d put them in the same group as USC, Stanford, Cal and Washington. With the spread, they’re at the top of the hill and can really focus on recruiting (or paying for) athletes to outscore everyone. Their OL isn’t the greatest and with the pro-style, they’d have to broaden their recruiting focus and get OL that can move people off the ball, rather than just get in their way.

January 3rd, 2013 at 8:54 AM
That win was huge for them given that they visit Michigan State and host OSU in the next week.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:54 AM
Or, to ask a different question: can Oregon win a title in the next five years running Kelly’s offense? I think maybe — maybe — Peterson gives them a better chance to win.
Disagree. But that’s OK.

January 3rd, 2013 at 8:55 AM
Agree on the first part. Team AJ and all. However watching Manning gut Indy would be kind of awesome, and I have no clue why.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:55 AM
You’re right, back in 2000 you could actually play defense without getting flagged.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:56 AM
As will I. Much rather go to New England – where the Ravens believe they can win – then hope Cincy beats Denver. Baltimore facing Manning at home coming off a bye with its terrible secondary? Ugh.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:56 AM
if we adopt your proposal, we end sports coverage as we know it. personally, I’m fine with talking only about highlights though.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:57 AM
Yes. That’s the amazing thing about this year’s team. They couldn’t stop the run with pros all over the line. Next year they can be any worse at that. If Murray comes back they’ll have one of the best 5 offenses in the nation. If their defense is just solid (not asking a lot) they can win 11 games.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:57 AM
When your team played the LT Giants, you were relieved when the game was over and your QB was still alive. That was the fear before each game. That he would snap off some body part that your QB would need to continue his career the next week.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:58 AM
When you saw Ray Lewis, you were relieved you left alive.
January 3rd, 2013 at 8:59 AM
Not really, though. Instead of saying Player X is better than Player Y 30 years ago, just compare them to their fellow peers.

So what NFL pregame show will Ray Lewis be on next season. Can CBS squeeze one more guy on their show?
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:03 AM
Ray Ray isn’t even retiring. He just had to switch the national attention off of cancer coach. Wake me up in August when he isnt in camp.

January 3rd, 2013 at 9:06 AM
My favorite memory regarding the Ravens and Lewis was the 2000 Super Bowl entrances. For some reason whichever station had the game decided to put a live mic on the field as the players were coming in. Every other word was “mother fucker” this and “ni**a” that. It went on for a good 30-45 seconds before the mic was cut.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:07 AM
If this were the 80s, and the game was being played in RFK, you might be right. But FedEx Field is the actual locale for the game, and it is will be no problem to get there in 1 hour.

But he didn’t have to deal with Tom Brady’s spread, or Manning reading the defenses and checking out or the no-huddle like it’s used today. Or the fact that you can barely hit a QB in today’s game. It’s just too hard to judge players against one another from such different games.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:09 AM
Vick Ballard probably peed in his pants a little upon hearing this news.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:09 AM
I don’t see what’s so difficult. You see how a player did compared to his peers, and see how another player did compared to his peers. Compare these two, consider any other variables, and create a slideshow. Profit.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:10 AM
Last year’s game was the tits, this one involved Curt Phillips…I think we can close the book on this case
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:10 AM
Yea, that’s a weird thing to say. Chip Kelly rumors have been flying for, oh, three months. Doubt it will have an iota of impact on his mindset for this game.
That said, I agree with the underlying sentiment…I do think that Oregon will come out and destroy them from the get-go.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:11 AM
Me too. There was an article in the roundup yesterday about NBC Sports, CBS Sports and FOx Sports (rebrand of Speed). Basically said that there isn’t going to be one that dethrones the WWL, but that all 3 can drain some audience. But they need live sports that people will watch.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:11 AM
I’m taking ORE -8.5. I got a score of 41-30 ORE. I think the speed of ORE will be equalizer in all of this. Can KSU keep pace with uptempo of ORE. KSU obviously can score points, but if ORE jumps out early to a 2-score lead, will KSU stay the course and run their style of offense.
The more I watch Kenjon Barner run, the more I am impressed with his speed & vision. Seems as though he has no path, but he excelerates and is gone.
Just hope the Kelly to NFL rumors don’t affect the play of the Ducks. GLTA

there’s no way you can compare Ray Ray to LT. The sheer amount of coke in LT’s system on any given play was a competitive advantage unlike anything Ray Lewis could possibly have benefited from due to recent advances in sports medicine or game planning.

January 3rd, 2013 at 9:20 AM
How many of you all have seen KSU play more than one game this year?
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:20 AM
I could see Klein throwing an early pick, getting down 14-0 and stalling out giving Oregon the ball back with a two TD lead. That would be a nightmare for KST. Though I must say I’m pumped to see Arthur Brown play again. That dude is legit.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:21 AM

KSU wasn’t mentally prepared for that game. Different team this year.

I enjoyed reading about the Quebecois getting played in that maple syrup heist. All of the heistiness was excellent. Way to secure your product that is worth 13x crude oil, with one guard who “stops by a few minutes a day”. Ha ha.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:22 AM
I’ve watched them play 3 times I think. Like their defense, but I don’t think they’re going to be able to keep up with Oregon, which means they’ll fall behind and need to pass a bit more than they want to. Now, if they are in the game at halftime, and can slow the pace way down to their liking, that gives them a huge edge. The only team that stopped Oregon this year was Stanford, and I don’t think KST has the front 7 the Cardinal have.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:22 AM
arkbadger knows. So does Kate
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:23 AM

Don’t fall asleep on Zimmerman. KSU went in the tank against Baylor and a big reason is he was out. That and KSU was completely beat up and tired by that game. And slow.

You mean Lewis played MLB and had to QB the defense and drop into coverage and all, as compared to LT who’s an OLB and a speed rusher? Fine, if you want to get that granular, then the comparison between those 2 is null and void.

I’ve heard of that (friends lived in Lincoln Park.) With street parking. Not at a Wal-Mart. Still kind of dickish either way.
I’ve heard of maybe 1% of the performers he saw.
I gave up after I read about the 8th best concert he saw this year. He left after 30 minutes because it was too intense.

the strange part about jmac’s chip kelly angry reason for taking oregon isn’t whether kelly would be angry about NFL rumors, it’s supposing an angry 50-some year-old man could influence how the 22 kids on the field play. will he angrily call angrier plays to score faster and more more more?

Sure, when it snows a lot. You can save the spot that you dug out with lawn furniture.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:41 AM
when isn’t that the case with Rinaldi.
I mentioned this last night, but he reminds me of Dennis Reynolds’ older brother and/or Robert Quarles. Gotta be honest, I had no clue who he was before last night. I was just going off the video that was posted.

Kinda think the same thing. They handled Butler and the win at Gonzaga was obviously nice, but they have 1 or 2 point wins against Hawaii, Gardner-Webb, and Auburn. They are massively overrated at this point, and are probably only the 6th best team in the Big 10.

I love people piling on about the SEC after the LSU & Florida losses (my facebook, twitter, not necessarily here). It’s a gross misunderstanding of what the “SEC” is to most people – not a conference but a region: The South. And now we’ve got Yankees standing on the shoulders of Clemson and Louisville (a team littered with players from Florida) shouting down the SEC? I don’t think those people quite get it.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:46 AM
Yep. With all the snow we got in Pittsburgh last week there are parking chairs everywhere.
Not only is it accepted (and rightfully so, if you dig out the spot, it’s your spot) but it’s enforced by people. If someone comes home to someone having moved their chair and taken their spot, they’re within their social right to puncture the person’s tire.
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:48 AM

If Murray comes back they’re going to be insane next year. Murray just lit up NEB (a good pass defense) with 3/4 best WRs on the bench.

SEC fans bring it on themselves. Anytime the top dog gets knocked off people celebrate. Just the way it is. I’d rather deal with the backlash when FLA chokes (for a number of reasons) than be the B10 and just suck all around.

Rinaldi’s puff pieces are just the worst
in print these stories are ok, writers love them because it gives them lots of material to turn phrases, chew up the scenery, show they are sensitive, etc. but visually, it is sickening how manipulative they are. you know with every thing said and every shot they want you to feel emotion. and to top it off, the athlete they are portraying would be ignored if it wasn;t for a tragedy or illness

Thought it was a couple from the burbs or maybe Oak Park? Was Boggs behind it?
January 3rd, 2013 at 9:53 AM
Purdue is not good, so that result surprised me. Folks in Champaign have to be nervous to lose this one since they are not really a top 20 team. They have no size and rely on really streaky shooting from Paul, Richardson, and a host of others. As mentioned above, they’ve had a couple of nice wins, but they are the 6th best team in the B10… Maybe even 7th behind Bucky…
That said, Groce is a hell of a coach. He will build it in Champaign/Urbana and the Illini will be a bitch while he’s there.
/Hoping that Groce takes over for Matta when his back gives out for good

Some do, sure. But I’m more interested in the regionalism of college football.
Auburn is actually a little bit better at bball this year (beat FSU last night if that counts for anything), but generally yes, a close game against us means that your team probably isn’t disciplined enough to pull away from mediocre teams.

One reason is Florida running the North Illinois offense whereby a dual threat quarterback can neither run nor pass and you have no ideas.

Oh without a doubt. That’s what people don’t get. The South has always viewed themselves as a country within a country. The origins are tragic in that they were on the wrong side of history, but that’s why it is the way it is. It also helps having the best coaches and the best talent in their backyard.
I’m so happy knowing that FLA is going to suck on offense again next year. Makes me smile. They lose some talent on defense, but BOOM will have them paying good D every year. Too bad they have Arm Punt McNoTouch throwing the rock.

January 3rd, 2013 at 10:04 AM
to a point, yes they do. what pisses me off is when people associate you with a conference instead of a team. I root for Arkansas, but other than a few exceptions, I could give two shits about the rest of the conference. I could give two blind fucks about how Bama or aTm or ole piss does in their bowl game. shit, them winning their bowl games does nothing but help them recruit players against Arkansas in the future.
deciding who to root for in the Cotton Bowl tomorrow is a tough one as I can’t stand either school, and hope for a gonorrhea bomb to be dropped on the Jerry Dome.

It also helps having the best coaches and the best talent in their backyard.
The best coaches is a function of pay. Big 10 (for example) schools pay their FB assistants less, because they have to pay for the other sports they offer that most SEC schools don’t. There isn’t any magic here, its $.

January 3rd, 2013 at 10:08 AM
There are a ton of “SEC” fans though. I have plenty of them in my office. I’ve grown to accept that the SEC is the best league, but I want Auburn to lose every god damn game they play and do so in a terribly embarrassing way. Florida, too.

I never never never understood the conference rooting ordeal. I want my rivals to lose and suffer as much as humanly possible. To me, it’s like rooting for the AFC North teams to win in the playoffs this weekend. Although I would like to see AJ Green tear it up because he is the tits to watch.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:10 AM
$$ doesn’t have shit to do with the talent in the backyard. You are right about the coaching though. The SEC uses the rest of the nation as the developmental leagues for coaches. When they’re ready the big boys open up the checkbooks.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:11 AM
Dude is just so fucking smooth. I was never more sure of being right about him blowing up in the league than I was regarding AJ.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:11 AM
It’s just too hard to judge players against one another from such different games.
this is the only part of what husker said that I agree with. It’s difficult to compare guys who play the same position across eras, and it’s pointlessly difficult to try to do it across positions and eras.
If somebody wants to say that Ray Lewis is the best linebacker ever, or the best defensive player ever, just say “cool, I’m glad you like Ray Lewis,” and keep walking.
You’re just arguing for the sake of arguing.
I think it’s Lawrence Taylor. But if you think it’s Ray Lewis, or Ronnie Lott, or Lee Roy Selmon, you’ve got a valid argument. I’m glad you like football.
If you think it’s Sean Taylor, you can STFU.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:12 AM
I’ve got to go OU. Too many Aggies around here to deal with. I’m tired of them saying Manziel is better than Cam. I’m tired of them saying if only they played Florida at the end of the year. I’m tired of their vapid personalities and horrible shit talking. I’m tired of their gnosticism. I’m tired of them talking about their DE, what’s his face, being better than Jadaveon Clowney. I’m tired of how they all dress the same – jeans, boots, maroon polo, parted hair (no swoosh), Ford F150 w/ A&M sticker and silver A&M magnet…
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:13 AM
I was going to say something about the disparity in coaches pay being a function of the number of sports a school supports, but Spicious already hit on that. I would also argue the “talent” line as well. Skill positions have an advantage in the South, but if I were a college coach I would be recruiting my offensive line north of the Mason-Dixon. And I’m sure we have all learned that games are won in the “trenches”.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:14 AM
should have kept it as VS and stayed a niche network. Then they would have great ratings.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:15 AM

January 3rd, 2013 at 10:19 AM
You can argue whatever you’d like, but on that subject I would win. There is simply more talented players across the board in the South (if you add Texas, which sure as hell isn’t “South”) it’s even worse.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:19 AM
Well, they could have a point there. The guy is a physical freak, but he sure as hell didn’t set the world on fire in the bowl game. Outside of the one big hit on a guy he was a foot taller and a 100 pounds heavier than. And he got it because the walk-on TE missed a blocking call from Lewan.
I’m sure Clowney will end up being really good, but it isn’t there yet.

January 3rd, 2013 at 10:20 AM

January 3rd, 2013 at 10:23 AM
Plus dude made a point about the trenches being where games are won and lost, which I agree with, and which is why the SEC is so good, because their D-Lines are superior.

The ol’ geography debate. Texas acts like it is a country within a country, that qualifies as “South”. I always considered the state of Texas as being in the “Southwest”, like the airline, where you have to fight for a seat on the plane.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:28 AM
Texas A&M is the perfect example of all it taking is one good hire at certain schools. You make one good hire at Utah, for example, you can maybe win. You make a good hire at a known program it never takes longer than a year or two.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:29 AM
Word, homey.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:30 AM
What lineman hasn’t played hurt by this point in the season?
That is just the falsest thing ever. The majority of the time the TE was on the right side of the line helping Schofield. He flipped to the left when Lewan left for a series and the TE followed him. Lewan was pretty much 1 v 1 all day against Clowney.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:30 AM
I think aTm moving to the SEC really helped them. Before, some Texas kids that wanted to play in the SEC wold go to LSU or Bama. Now, they might be more inclined to go to aTm.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:31 AM
It probably helped, but A&M always landed talent. That was never an issue. Now they have a dynamic coach who can bring in even more of the talent and actually do something with it.

I will say that the two stout DLs they faced put a whooping on A&M, and that was with two outstanding OTs. I assume both are gone, so that will be something to watch for next year. Though you’d think Manzeil will take a big leap forward after a full year leading the charge.

This is categorically false. I watched Clowney the entire game, couple of times he was borderline cut blocked. Almost always a second line man or a running back to chip after initial contact.

I’m glad someone commented this so I can react. I saw the replay and wasn’t that impressed by the hit. It was great, but anyone with a running start can decleat a RB who barely got the handoff. the helmet coming off is largely a factor of the helmet not being on correctly in the first place, so as to accomodate all that predator hair.
But yeah, the picking up of the ball is what really made that play. And the circumstances. And the fact that he beat a quadruple team every single play, all game.

The speed to get around the blockers and get in the backfield so quickly was impressive. But picking a fumble off the ground like that while people are making contact with him and tucking it in with one hand is something I’m not sure I’ve ever seen before.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:51 AM
The hit was great, but I have to say I preferred the block that Vincent Smith put on him earlier in the game that sent him to the sidelines. Always entertaining to listen to guys in the booth try to talk around that type of hit. Which was one of only two times during the game that those douchebags were funny. The other was when they were making fun of those fucking awful uniforms that Michigan came out in.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:51 AM
I think there are jobs out there he would leave for. OU being one of them.
A&M has deep pockets, but not the highest of profiles. That may change under his watch, but I honestly think this is a blip of an uptick. A&M won’t sneak up on anyone next season like they did this year. I expect them to lose a close one to Okie tomorrow night and tail off next season to 8-4.

I laughed.

I’ve seen that Louisville QB play a couple times this year. He’s always had touch and accuracy, but he used to have a Chad Pennington arm. Nice to see him throw some balls with zip on it last night.

My buddy looked at me and said, “The bigger the nuts, the bigger the pain.”
I hope you immediately turkey tapped him, and then noted how it didn’t hurt at all.

Dude can’t get out of Columbia fast enough.

I believe it was the next play that Lewan deposited Clowney several yards down field. Clowney was going to make plays in that game, but he wasn’t the disruptive force he was hyped to be. It was an absolute joke that he was the player of the game. From watching it there were at least 4 players that were more important than him, at a minimum. Ace Sanders should have won, followed by Shaw, Gallon, and then Lewan for limiting the “Greatest College Defensive Player EVER!!!!” to 4 tackles.

A&M has deep pockets, but not the highest of profiles. That may change under his watch, but I honestly think this is a blip of an uptick. A&M won’t sneak up on anyone next season like they did this year. I expect them to lose a close one to Okie tomorrow night and tail off next season to 8-4.
this kind of sound logic forces me to reiterate that when i am dogging aggies, this does not include you.

Well, since you repeated it, I’m now totally convinced you’re correct. Thanks.

There is a sign somewhere in East Texas on I-20 that says El Paso – 815 miles. Or something like that.

Yes,if he took the handoff, rolled over the RB, and took it for a TD, it would be the greatest YouTube clip ever. Might even replace “Gangnam Style” on some blogs that talk about sports.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:57 AM
It’s going to be really hard to defeat the “Clowney wasn’t doubled” crowd when that one clip on YouTube pops up showing he was doubled on one play.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:57 AM
I hadn’t. I knew Florida was a fraud, especially on offense, but woof, that has to take some shine off the SEC. If Bama goes down somehow, the blowback will be almost as annoying as the “SEC” rhetoric was for the last five years.

OT – anybody listen to any good podcasts. Not sports related unless it’s somewhat intellectual. News is fine. General shit. Love Freakonomics podcast but that’s my only go-to right now.

Ace Sanders won the Outback Bowl MVP, not Clowney.

The flying predator hair reminded me when Charlie Murphy slapped down “Rick James” and his hair went flying.
The picking up of the ball one handed made the play even better. He picked it up like a nerf ball.
January 3rd, 2013 at 10:59 AM
Just has to.
January 3rd, 2013 at 11:01 AM
The aforementioned “Clowney-Cam” guy at Gamecock Central posted that, per the iso film, he was at least doubled on 82% of the plays he was on the field.
January 3rd, 2013 at 11:02 AM
Then that is great, but I was referring to whatever award it was that the broadcast team hands out. Not surprisingly, I stopped watching after the final play and didn’t read any ESPN recaps. Clowney was named player of the game by those idiots.
January 3rd, 2013 at 11:02 AM
This American Life and Planet Money from NPR are good.
January 3rd, 2013 at 11:03 AM
Oh, I was so drunk and excited that I didn’t even see who the ESPN guys picked. But, yea, that’s stupid. Ace was clearly the deserving winner.
January 3rd, 2013 at 11:03 AM
Thanks.

Nerdist is pretty fascinating if you like any kind of geek culture stuff. Also enjoy Stuff You Missed In History Class, Planet Money, and Stuff You Should Know.

Which makes me so hateful. All JT Floyd has to do is wait until after the bowl game to get as high as he wants and that becomes so much less of an issue. Not sure if him being suspended or Demens getting hurt killed the pass defense more. Demens was by far the best LB all year at dropping into coverage down the seam.

I’ve listened to some of the podcasts from “The Moth”. It’s basically story-telling, from somewhat famous/successful writers, to random people. Can be hit or miss, but I keep a few on my ipod, just in case I get bored.
January 3rd, 2013 at 11:09 AM
I just subscribed to everything mentioned. That should get me through my work days. I just need something int he background when I really get down to it. Thanks all.
January 3rd, 2013 at 11:10 AM

All Things Considered should also be thrown into the podcast discussion.

Kornheiser’s radio show podcast, commercial-free, only part sports, and is really good. Hits on a variety of topics, is intellectual, and damned funny.

These are good though I got burned out on the Stuff You.. series.
