Mario Balotelli And Roberto Mancini Had Physical Altercation During Manchester City Training
Mercurial striker Mario Balotelli and manager Roberto Mancini had an altercation at Man City’s training ground. It’s not clear what happened from the BBC slideshow, though the pair grabbed one another and had to be physically separated and restrained. Some reports suggest Mancini was reprimanding Balotelli for a rough tackle on Scott Sinclair.
Tensions are high with Man United pulling away in the title race. Balotelli is Balotelli. Mancini was renowned for starting fights with teammates during a lengthy playing career at Sampdoria. If you had to choose a player and manager most likely to go at it, these would probably be the two.
Balotelli may be finished at Manchester City. The 22-year-old Italian is as talented, physically, as any player in the world. However, he was already out of favor over multiple incidents, making just seven starts in the EPL this season and scoring just one goal in 13 league appearances. This is far from Balotelli’s first scuffle on the training ground. Mancini, who brought Balotelli into the fold as a youth player when he was manager at Inter Milan, had been one of his defenders. It is hard to see him staying beyond this summer, but can Man City can get rid of him?
An exorbitant salary precludes Balotelli from almost every club. That’s before you factor in the ancillary cost of putting up with his antics. There is no logical option in England. In Italy, Juventus and Inter Milan won’t take him. AC Milan may not be able to afford him. In Spain, Jose Mourinho hates him and it is hard to see Barcelona putting up with him. Would PSG risk having Balo and Ibrahimovic in the same locker room?

BBC getting very avant garde with slideshows that are merely links to past TBL posts.

So now Balotelli is adding a bit of Spree to his T.O. personality. A diva for all sports!

Norm McDonald is writing for Grantland now. Odd.

Which makes him the most interesting personality that site has now. Or maybe its only interesting personality.

Is now fixed, slideshow needs to be set to Opera music from scenes where everybody dies in despair.

I like Andy Greenwald. He knows all the big words.

Another black person assaulting a white person. This is why white folks can’t have anything.

Got forced to watch The Chew while home for Christmas. Cooking talk show with him and a bunch of other people, and it’s tied to that Dr. Oz shit so they have lots of newage nonsense that should be illegal to peddle. God I hate what has come of cooking shows.

Same here and then I looked at his picture and saw a Sleestak. And then I went to Grantland to poke around and found Norm. It has been an enlightening past 15 minutes.

funnier: norm mcdonald or kevin nealon?

we just moved into a new house on Christmas Eve and I got the tvs hooked up last weekend. we have effectively not had a tv for the last 6 months and we had no clue what to watch when we sat down to watch something. so, we watched some bowl games. this has nothing to do with your comment.

All I want is Iron Chef, Chopped and Masterchef (guilty pleasure). For pure, old-school cooking shows I watch John Besh on Public Access.

Norm. Taking nothing away from Nealon. I just liked Norm better.
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:10 PM
It was. I was bummed when it went off of the air, and at this point I’ve seen so many of the episodes. Always nice to come across one I haven’t seen though. If I could buy a la carte service Food TV would be my first purchase.

Phil Hartman.
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:14 PM
agreed
the point was just made on radio that it’s spooky that reid would go where one of the other recent high profile nfl-related suicides was
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:15 PM
Phil Hartman.
Did he ever do the news? I thought that was what Joe was referencing. Even if not, I’ll put Norm ahead of Phil. I never liked that Talk Radio show because the weasel guy was on it. His name escapes me now. The Joe Dirt guy when has nailed every hot chick in Hollywood. Now look what you did, Dawg. I’m getting angry now.

Newsradio was fantastic.
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:19 PM
naw, i just get them confused. tall, goofy looking comedians
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:20 PM
They still show (old) episodes on Cooking Channel if you are looking for an Alton fix
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:22 PM
Holds up pretty well, too. Have watched most of the Hartman episodes a few times through in the last year.
Joe Rogan was playing himself it turns out.
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:24 PM
Not sure if this has been brought up, but Al-Jazeera has bought Current TV.
In its story about the move, Fox News without a trace of irony referred to Al-Jazeera’s “reputation as a purveyor of propaganda.”
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:26 PM
David Spade wasn’t on NewsRadio, but Andy the Massive Dick was.
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:28 PM
But he was well-cast as himself, and very funny in that role on NewsRadio.
/ Khandi Alexander, Maura Tierney, Vicki Lewis … hotness galore

David Spade wasn’t on NewsRadio, but Andy the Massive Dick was.
Did I just confuse David Spade with Andy Dick? Goodness. The 90s.
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:33 PM
Speaking of the 90s, I’ve always been ashamed for liking Pauly Shore movies like Son-in-Law and Encino Man.
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:42 PM
This is incorrect. It’s NewsRadio.
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:44 PM
How is this a question?
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:48 PM
How is this a question?
OK, i have a better one:
how fat are you really?
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:54 PM
Reasons why I watch cooking shows, here and here.
January 3rd, 2013 at 2:56 PM
Own it, those are “good” bad movies.
