You gotta split NC into too regions: East and West (Lexington). East in the whole hog and vinegar based, with maybe a little hot sauce, West and Lexington is pork shoulder and red “dip.” It’s most similar to a Memphis style sauce, but thinner and tangier.

Maybe the discussion leads to more. I do think that the lawsuits will make a big change to toradol use, eventually. It just might be replaced with something else though, so maybe not a culture change.

Oh I agree that there’s now a decent discussion about it going on.

But a headline I saw recently was “Concussion awareness on the rise in Pop Warner football.” What I’m saying is the fact that the story is “awareness” of the fact that your elementary school kids could be getting concussions is, logically, not progress at all. It just shows how warped our priorities are that instead of just saying “whoa, uh maybe little kids shouldn’t be playing this game” to which the reaction is still almost always the “you’re a pussy” response, we’re just becoming aware of how fucked up they might get from it. Great work parents.

I think you are. Three/four years ago, I had that conversation on a Pittsburgh site about concussions and head trauma, and was called an idiots/pansy/i should go watch flag football etc. I think it’s coming around, and public now at least is aware of it (even if the NFL only gives it lip service). The problem is that there is always the lawsuit, but then not as much attention given to the trial/resolution. If this kid wins a big public lawsuit, which he probably could, then toradol use probably gets cut way down.
