To prove he can hack it outside the minor leagues. That he can win with equal talent

Because after he most likely wins Monday night, he’ll have nothing to prove other than say he can coach at the highest level.

Running a potential dynasty isn’t a horrible gig. He tried the NFL, and really wasn’t very good at it.

That said, OSU should be closer to 10 than 1.

Ohio State will begin ranked higher than they should be, but that’s because no one looks at the OL or DL. They’ll see Urban and Miller and put them in the top 3.

OSU’s OL only loses the RT (a converted TE). Rest returns and there’s depth there. Rest of the offense in intact (not counting FBs, because they’ve been replaced by TEs).

I remember when Chad Henne, Mike Hart and Jake Long came back for their senior years.

In all fairness, Long made millions more by coming back.

OSU defense taking a bit hit with Simon and Hankins leaving. Two of the best interior lineman. Good young talent to replace but I am worried. Somebody could run over tOSU. Offense still needs more playmakers too.

On defense, OSU loses 6 of their front 7 (Shazier’s the only one coming back), 1 of 2 corners (maybe both if Roby declares) and 1 of 2 safeties. It’ll be a very young defense next year, and if they miss out a couple linebackers, there will be walk-ons on the LB depth chart.

I’m OK with the offense, provided Herman/Meyer recognize that Hyde running North/South needs to be the basis of the running game. They’ll have young talent coming in to try and take some of Braxton’s EastWest & big play load.

Bummer. Though what’s funny is if Bama weren’t allowed to oversign they’d not be in the position they are today.
